1. 1972 Mazda Rx2 sedan (automatic)...whacked on extractors + twin 2" exhaust. Reduced back pressure enough to cause apex seals to fail , engine blew.
2. 1973 Mazda Rx3 sedan. 13B Large extend port + 48IDA webber. Holy sh*t! Learnt to drive manual on it. . Whole car rocked from side to side unless you were above 3000rpm. Stolen!!!!!!
3. 1970 Mazda 1300. .......I don't wish to talk about it.........
4. 198? Mazda 121. Good car, but never again.( I gave Noddy a bad name.)

7. 1997 Subaru WRX (MY98). APS kit + TMIC, auto water spray..blah blah, VF34 turbo. Very quick, a lot of fun. 248kW @ engine, 178kw @ 4 wheels
8. 2004 Mazda Rx8. Love /hate with car. Smooth and great to drive, but sucked fuel like a baby craving milk.
9. 2005 Honda Integra Type-S. Awesome blend of performance and economy. Bit too frenetic to live with tho. Have to say, I really do miss VTEC
10. 2007 Mazda MX5. F + R Whiteline swaybars + Eibach pro-kit. My god does this thing handle at speed or what! Love it! Autoexe intake (imminent!), HKS catback (tell him he's dreamin')

three days ago the new MPS...
Fiat 850 sedan (absolute pus box. started twice, when I bought it and when I sold it)
65 VW Beetle (granny smith green, fat rims, extractors, 1100cc motor)
Fiat 850 Coupe (looked like a dark green cockroach. No auto-centering steering..interesting!)
69 Toyota Corolla (1100cc, had it painted metallic brown with nice mags....loved it)
72 Toyota Celica (pale yellow, nice mags, chick magnet.....)
68 Toyota Corolla (white with brown vinyl roof, what was I thinking.....but was the start of my tuning aspirations. Hot 3K motor embarassed many a V8 and hot 6)
Datsun 180B SSS (1800 with twin Hitachi SU copies. Was a great car but kept jumping out of 2nd when accelerating hard, nearly busted my wrist on a couple of occasions)
74 Toyota Celica (this was a beast. Final evolution had a pair 45mm webers, forged "formula 2" 2T engine with dry sump. One of the quickest and fastest cars I've owned. At the time it was the "shizzle")
Ford XT Ute (Initially for ute project but was a rust bucket so was used as the hack car, eventually blew it up.....for fun)
Ford XR Fairmont (A pristine old man's car. 221ci Diamond white with Blue Vinyl Roof and Blue interior. Blew the diff, just backing out the driveway! One that I should have kept)
Ford XY GS Sedan (This was meant to be a parts car. 302W was a burnout queen and served me well for a while. Ended up being stripped for bits)
Ford XY GS Ute (This was the project. Was an original 351C 4bbl, 4spd , 9inch GS Ute in Olive Green which made it rarer than a GT. Had grand plans but by the time I got all of my performance parts together, I had to sell it off to go toward another house. The guy who bought it turned it into a stunning Vermillion Fire GT replica. Was one of my biggest regrets)
Ford LTD Landau Town Car (wanted something plush for a while and this fit the bill for sure. The previous owner emptied an auto XA GT into it and it went like a bastard. Engine mount broke and once you took off it would jam at full throttle until it changed into 2nd.....had a couple of frights in a multi storey car park!!)
Chrysler Galant 1400 (shitbox I collected out of a neighbors garden for my sister. One look and she decided against getting her license.....)
89 Toyota Seca Twin Cam (My first new car. Even put myself on the 3 month waiting for one....sight unseen. Ended up being a fabulous car at the time.)
Leyland Mini Moke Californian (bought as a fun car for summer. Drove it to Sydney and back once....never again. On a quiet night, I can still hear the deafening sound of the canvas sides flapping at 110kmph! Was fun on a sunny day though)
91 KF Laser TX3 4WD Turbo (My second new car and WHAT a car it was. This was the shizzle in my bizzle. Some of my best memories were had in this beast. Was a bitter sweet day when I sold it because I was going into business for myself and needed a wagon)
TN Magna Station Wagon 5spd (You may laugh but it was a good car. One of the most reliable and consistent cars I'd owned. Was much better that the commodores or falcons of the same era. Put it this way, it did the job)
Telstar TX5 Ghia 2.5 V6 Manual (This was a lovely car and to my eyes, it still looks about as good as it did when it was released. Turbine smooth V6 that loves to rev and sounds fantastic. Quite alot of technology went into this engine and it was quite revolutionary at the time. Very nice car and pure indulgence after the Magna)
R31 Skyline GTS-X Coupe (Oh oh, taste of turbo again.....there's no coming back now. Brilliant car with that very special RB20DET. Was very rare on the roads here in Aust, so I was lucky to find one but was an auto. Auto spoiler was very cool)
Pulsar GTi-R (Drove it and gave myself a fright. This was a mad Jap tuned one. Had some fun but the mods were poorly executed and had some unpleasant issues. Only kept it about 6 months and ended up selling it to a young guy who wanted to spend up big. Probably up a tree as I never saw it again.)
R33 Skyline GTS-25T 4dr Manual (Took my wife to see it. Went around a corner sideways with tyres ablaze and wasnt even trying. Emptied my wallet as soon as we returned. Has been a great car, THAT sound, fast, comfortable, great handling and a tricked up RB25DET but was always a compromise. Really needed a hatch or a wagon. It's looking for a new home.)
2004 Mazda 2 Genki (Drove it out of the showroom brand spanking for my wife. Really lovely little beasty. This has been our family car and will now be handed down to the kids as our son has just got his learners.)
2009 Smart Fortwo MHD (Wife has always wanted one, so we finally got one for her about 4 weeks ago. What a hoot!! Never fails to get looks. I reckon when we trade it in the next few years it will still be on the original tank of fuel!!)
2009 BL Mazda 3 MPS Luxury (What can I say......ohh lah lah!!)
Wow ManicMPS, big list of great cars there!
A friend of mine used to have a Landau Hardtop and that thing was a serious beast, I always wanted to buy it off him but he sold it (many years ago)
91 KF TX3 AWD, fine car, one of the guys on OMC here in Perth has one and has just converted it to LPG, haven't been for a ride in it but damn it's quick!
R36 - Just like an MPS6 except with a growly V6
After that long list a short one...
1983 Ford Laser. What can i say it was a great year
2003 Toyota carolla
and...
2009 Mazda3 SP25 - In black of course...
Your list might well read like this when you become an old fart like me!! Needless to say that my mates and I were revheads. In those days we did everything ourselves , had some brilliant times and built some pretty swift cars. Once wives, kids and jobs come on the scene, there was little time left for our indulgence. However my best mate and I have a couple of projects in the wings, just waiting for enough spare time to make a start. We have a couple of genuine GT Falcon's to do up.....an XTGT and an XWGT.
I had the white 4dr Landau Town Car version while my mate had a metallic blue Landau coupe. A very schwanky pair at the time.
Must say, I never contemplated gassing my TX3 at the time but there have been some pretty potent LPG turbo combo's getting around in recent times so there's definitly potential there. Cheers
Well my list certainly isn't going to be as long as everyone elses
2005 - 1990 Toyota Celica SX - Which I proceeded to replace the exhaust, intake, wheels, seats and eventually installed a whole computer in the dash to control the audio. You know you've gone too far when your mods are worth more then the car...
2009 - 2005 Mazda 6 MPS - So far the only thing on the table is the addition of a ipod connector so I don't have to listen to the radio!
I have to say I am enjoying the quiet power of the 6 compared to the celica, where mods only got you sound and fury signifying nothing.
94 Toyota Supra
04 Honda Jazz Vti-turbo
92 Honda civic si with A B16a jap spec
89 Mazda 626 turbo
in no particular order
and currently the mps3 and 03 Nissan Navara str
In the order I had them:
1978 Toyota Corolla KE30
1976 Honda Civic EB1
1966 Fiat 500 (Bambina)
1972 Honda Scamp (N360)
1984 Suzuki GR650 (Motorbike)
1972 Toyota Corolla KE26
1969 Lancia Fulvia 1.3S Rallye
1964 Fiat 500 (Bambina)
1984 Lancia HPE Volumex
1991 Yamaha FZR1000B (Motorbike)
1979 Renault 12TL
1979 BMW 635CSi (manual)
1973 Fiat 500 (Bambina)
1982 Renault 18 Turbo
1995 Mazda RX7 (Batmobile)
2003 Daewoo Matiz (my first brand new car)
2005 Toyota Hilux 2WD Diesel
2008 Mazda 3 MPS in Red
The MPS is the top-spec version, as that's all that is sold here.
I bought the last Fiat Bambina in 1995 and still have it. I restored it in 2006 and is like brand new. She gets displayed at concours shows.
First car Holden Barina (1991 model)
Second car Mitsubishi Cordia GSR (Turbo model, think it was a 1987)
Third car, Holden Barina (1997 model)
Fourth car, Holden SS Ute (VU)
Firth car, Holden SS Ute (VZ)
Sixth car, Mazda 3 MAxx Sport (2005) - this was my wifes car, we went all family
Seventh car, Mazda 3 MPS (2009, black and beautiful)
Cordia was great, but with its age it was not faring too well. Turbo was stuffed, rust had set in and the brakes were absolutely crap. But for a while it was a whole lot of fun.
