G'day. I think you might mean crackle on overrun? If so, my understanding is that the MPS don't have any overrun tables or room in memory to add overrun tables so they cant be programmed to crackle on overrun without an aftermarket ECU or interceptor. Having said that I'd heard someone had figured something out to create the effect, but it's low on my interest rating, so can't tell you any more than that.
Is the tuner familiar with the MPS models and is he referring to other MPS he has worked with, or just other vehicles in general?
I think what you want is rich tune on overrun but see above for probs making that happen. That's as much as I can think of off the top of my head.
