QFM A1RM Fitted to JZA80 Supra!
    Thought I'd add my 2c.

I recently made over my brakes with some braided lines, slotted rotors and the QFM A1RM pads. It wasn't just a pad change so I can't compare directly with the old set up however I'm bloody impressed with how the car pulls up now and I believe a lot of that is down to the new pads. The brake fade is quite minimul and significantly better than the stock Toyota pads I had on it previously. Slam on the brakes and it bites hard, time and time again. So much so that I sometimes feel if it pulled up quicker my face would somehow detach from my head and hit the windscreen like some weird crossover film between 'Gone in 60 seconds' and 'Face Off'. Unlike my old setup these certainly give me a sense of confidence through the twisties!

Either way, QFM A1RM pads = WIN

QFM are a cheaper alternative to Ferodo DS2500!
I just got the QFM A1RM's and they went well at sandown. Greg was very helpful and delivery was only 2 days.
Very cheap for $130. I don't think I'll be spending big on pads again after how they performed at Sandown.

I will monitor the wear but I get to about 220kmh before jumping on the brakes and they felt similar to my DS2500's.

QFM A1RM - JZA80 Supra with upgraded 4/2 pot brakes!
Well said and i couldn't agree more. I have been running with QFM A1RM pads in my RZ Supra (4/2 pot) for about two months now and i have not looked back. I previously had Project Mu's and for street and the odd track day i would not recommend anything other than the A1RM's. A fantastic, excellent performing pad from the moment you leave the garage!

I put a set of QFM HPX front pads in my MPS6 for the Apollo Road run. I am pleased to report that I have a hugely better brake pedal and a much greater confidence in the brakes.

I expected harder braking until the pads warmed up, but they are just as good cold as they are hot.

The major benefit for me so far is not only a better feel but a greatly reduced amount of pad dust. With OEM pads the front wheels and the lower side panels on the car get covered with a light haze of brake-dust after 100 kilometres. On the Apollo Road Run I did just under 500k's by the time I got home and had to wipe the front wheel with my finger to see if there was any dust.

Sadly I cannot report on the rear pads as the listing for the MPS6 is incorrect and I was supplied with the wrong pads. GSL RallySport are very good and looking into getting the correct pads wiith HBX material. I hope it can be worked out soon as the dust from the rear hazes the sides of the rear bumper bar and I can't wait to see the improvement overall with the QFM brakes all round.

    QFM A1RM For the Win!
Just a bit of feedback on the A1RM that we installed on my girlfriends car a few months back. After a number of laps at Collie where previously her Ferodo's would start to get soggy, the QFM pads were still biting hard and gave her heaps more confidence in later braking. They were also biting harder from cold, and she didn't manage to get them to fade the entire time. I had a go and I was pretty impressed for the price of the pad!

    QFM A1RM Fitted to R33 GTS-T Skyline!
Have a set of a1rm on the front of my 33 gtst, definitely excellent value for money. After a hard session I'd hardly have any stopping power with OEM pads and would have to waste time letting them cool down, with the a1rm pads on I've not yet experienced fade and have plenty of bite where the oem's would have led me in to the nearest wall!

    Default QFM pad update

Clocked up a few kilometres now and still pretty impressed, especially with the pedal feel.

I believe the new pads saved me from a mess today, I was driving at just under 60 kph beside a truck turning left in the the left lane (Bathurst RTA) when a Holden Rodeo pulled out in front of the truck. Spectacular quick stop with no dramas, just a few of those in and out words from my usually sedate co-pilot.

    Virtually no dust - great
    Terrific initial response on pedal

Thanks QFM & GSL RallySport - It would not have pulled up in time with the stock pads.

ok i have run these A1RM pads for about 1000k now,

when they machined my disks i think one of my disks might be warped or something because i get a squeak from the back left brake disk at low speed i know its not the pads because none of the other disks make a peep, and i notice slightly more noise braking over stock pads, however the braking performance is nothing short of amazing, get these bad boys hot and they just get better, no more visiting brake fade town at the end of a nebo run at full pelt, extremely impressed with performance, now i need some good DBA disks to show the full potential of these pads.

Great reviews for these pads... but i just bought a set of Hawk ceramic pads lol..... anyone had the Hawk ceramics? how do these compare?

  16. Default

The ceramics from what I understand are more of a high performance street pad, rather than anything you'd want to hit the track with, so they'd be comparable with the QFM HPX, whilst the A1RM, in terms of performance at least, would be a big step up.

QFM A1RM Fitted to Toyota JZX100 Turbo Chaser!
A bit of an update guys. Have just fitted set of the A1RM pads to my 100 today, and taken it around the streets to bed them in.. and my god the improvement over the pads that were in it previously (presume OEM pads) is amazing. The responsiveness of brake pedal is awesome, even when they are still pretty cold. Haven't had chance to take it for a proper hills run, so we'll see how they perform there but is all very promising!

Hey Greg. I had the HPX pads fitted. The feel good, a lot better then my previous pads. Just wondering is it normal that they squeek? Doesn't happen 100% of the time but ill be slowing down at a certain speed, gradually and left wheel will squeek then ill get to 20km/h left will stop and right will then squeek. poor installation?

  19. Default

Yep, when it's one side only it generally is installation or bed in. Is it front or rear?
