Thread: Gen 2 after market head unit advice needed

  1. Default Gen 2 after market head unit advice needed

    Hi all,

Want to put in a 8" head unit just using gps,cd and radio.Fed up with the small screen at the back of the dash.
I have seen a couple of units from Eunon the D5163Z and the GA5163F.
Anybody tried either of these ? What are the maps like ?
I think i would lose the current gps and info screen. Is it stil possible to capture fuel consumption,av speed etc thru unit.
    I have a non bose system.MPS-3 2011.
Are there any other units worth looking at.
These seem quite cheap about 1/4 of the price Autobarn wanted to supply and install an Alpine unit with brackets.

    Any advice appreciated

Eonon are garbage in my opinion. I own a gen 1 and was able to obtain a GENUINE Mazda double din kit from Japan for it which allowed me to install a head unit of my liking (Alpine). I used a PAC interface unit to retain steering wheel control and factory LCD clock function. Gen 2s are obviously different, so do some research on compatibility of the PAC interface with your model and what facia kits are available for it. Not sure if Mazda made a genuine one for the Gen 2.
