Congratulations to the Nuon Solar Team, back-to-back Bridgestone World Solar Challenge Champions in 2015!
It didn t take long once the race start for Day 5 kicked off in the morning for race leaders, the Nuon team, to be the first to cross the finish line in Adelaide, after an epic 3,000km journey from Darwin.

Congratulations to Solar Team Twente as our 2015 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge runners up, with Red One arriving into Adelaide in 2nd Place. A wonderful effort from the Dutch team and a very close finish indeed!

“We're so proud! On our last race day of the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge we ended second! The race has never been so exciting, we finished only three and a half minutes behind the winners from Delft,” said the ‘Flying Dutchmen' of Solar Team Twente.

After an absolutely exhausting week, teams fell where they stood and immediately took time to enjoy the surroundings, basking in the sun with a very well deserved rest.

Congratulations to the Tokai Challenger, as they finish in 3rd Place after their stunning last minute overtake during the final 60kms of the race! The Bridgestone Ecopia tyre served them faithfully for the entire trip.

The famous fountain of Adelaide served as a gorgeous backdrop for the celebrations to begin.

Arriving into Adelaide in 4th Place was The University of Michigan Solar Car Team, followed by Punch Powertrain Solar Team coming home strong in 5th.
Well done to both teams on an epic 3,000km journey from Darwin. Just finishing the race is no small feat, let alone in the top five of a worldwide competition!

Taking a very, very well-earned rest. These entirely hand-crafted cars have travelled 3,000kms – many without a single hitch and void of any solid repairs. Very impressive and a testament to the skill of the young engineers who helped create them from scratch.

As Race Day 6 of the 2015 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge rolled around, the sun continued to shine down on many more of our Schneider Electric Challenger Class, Cruiser Class and 360 Adventure Class competitors closing in to Adelaide. The weather has remained largely faultless and Mother Nature has been decidedly kind to the WSC competition.

One of the first finishers of the day welcomed to the City of Adelaide Finish Line in 8th Place was Clenergy TeamArrow – of Schneider Electric Challenger Class. They served as the first Australian competitors to finish the 2015 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge!

Shortly thereafter our next two Schneider Electric Challenger Class teams crossed the City of Adelaide Finish line in spectacular style! Congratulations EAFIT-EPM Solar Car Team from Colombia who arrived in 9th Place.

And hot on the Colombian s heels was UNLIMITED, the Bridgestone Ecopia-wearing Western Sydney Solar Car Project in 10th Place. And boy, did they know how to celebrate!

It was certainly a busy morning at the City of Adelaide Finish line as we welcomed more teams into the city after their 3,000km journey from Darwin.

Even more Schneider Electric Challenger teams rolled in, with NWU Solar Car - Sirius X25 crossing in 11th, University of Toronto Blue Sky Solar Racing in 12th and UKZN Solar Car in 13th, while our first Adventure Class car, TAFE SA, were welcomed back to their hometown.

The afternoon also served as a welcome to our first two Cruiser Class teams to cross the finish line in the 2015 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge.
Well done to Kogakuin University Solar Vehicle Project on crossing first in OWL, and Solar Team Eindhoven (STE) second in Stella Lux, still thrilled off their record-breaking 1,500km run on a single charge earlier in the competition.

After all cars eventually crossed the finish line, it was time for the awards ceremony; and for the Nuon Solar Team to take their much deserved place on stage as winners of the 2015 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge.
