both actually...but i was talking about your hair at the time.
Mmmm I don't like it when I pull my own hair... lol but umm... nevahmind.
Dotty you have to keep in mind that everyone is going to have a different opinion, just like anything else if comes down to personal preference.
Best idea would be to check out the set up that members have next time your on a cruise and have a listen to the exhaust to see which sounds the best 'in your opinion'. Or if your after performance, we listen to the experts, MPSgarage would be a good place to start, don't go listening to some guy at an exhaust garage.
Not taking anything away from MPSGarage, I disagree with your statement. MPSGarage is a reseller, not an exhaust specialist.
Exhaust garages have their value, but its YOU who has to make the decision in the end (whether it be the right or wrong one). Even Duggie tried to convince me why I shouldnt get the CES (cost), and after careful consideration, I still went with it, and I never regret it, not for 1 minute. Its a testiment to the saying "you get what you paid for". Yes I paid top dollar, but I got the "crem de la crem" (top of the range) when it comes to exhausts, and I have piece of mind that you're getting high performance inhouse designed kit, without the worry of it falling to bits and creating unwanted CEL's (if you got the turbo back setup that is).
I do recommend you talking to CES. They will give you honest, obligation free advice about all of the exhaust systems on the market including their own. They have all the bits to cater for every budget, and Trevor has been in industry for over 25 years, so he's not a back yard 18 year old apprentice either.
Ask 2000MN, he will 2nd my comments about CES.

Yeh I do MSY! Silence creeps me out a lil...
I figure by putting the sports muffler on it, it can't sound any more quiet than it already does. It's not a lot of money, so yeh, if I'm not happy with that, then I'll go back to the drawing board, or I'll turn my music off on the next cruise, if I go.
You mean if you are invited...lol
Anytime Dorothy!
oh she's invited onto the next cruise.........Cruise to byron
Time to see duggy in full flight
Just because you paid the most for an exhaust, doesn't mean you have the best system.
Not knocking anyones setup, but people have to understand that. Top dollar doesn't mean you get the best product!
A friend of mine on this forum(with a MPS3) was quoted 2650 for a CES turbo back system, comparing that to a CPE system it's 700 more.
CPE are the best in the USA, CES are probably the best in Australia, so which is better? I dunno- i've never seen 2 seperate setups on the same dyno, but 700 is alot of extra $ to throw at an exhaust which is about on par with itself.
CorkSport FMIC with Cold Air Induction, , Cork Sport Cat Back, CPE Standback with PNP, TurboSmart BOV, Custom Highflow Cat with CorkSports Downpipe,Pauter Rods, CP Pistons,ARP Head Studs, BIGGER TURBO COMING, Pre-ordered a Stage 3 CPE Engine.
Well I can tell you in about 4 days, I just ordered a Corksport system from MPS garage
Not plugging the site! I have done extensive research and well I wanted Price Performance and sound (but not too much sound) it makes for a difficult solution I have a MPS6 which as I understand is a little more of a problem than the 3. Thats what I have ordered and I will post my results. The canon solution is bad dont do it. You have a beautiful performance car dont put a 100 buck solution on it. go a cat back or more that I can say for sure.
MPS6 19"Rims, King Springs, BOV, Cork 3"
Yeah, $2650 is a lot of mulah.. But in my mind, for a full system, it was good value.
I've easily used $700 worth of free hoist use, use of tools, personal attention and check-ups at CES, plus if anything goes wrong over the life of the car, I've got piece of mind that CES is only 25min away. Wheres the support if you buy the CPE? possibilities of getting bent in shipping is a reasonable possibility...
BTW, for those wondering, the cost of the full CPE setup without postage is approx AU$1960, and postage from the US for a full exhaust is at least US$180, so add another AU$280, and you're almost there. Not quite $700 difference really.
And then theres the worry about the install. Well, CES is about as experienced as you can get, and installing a Downpipe to the back of the MPS's turbo is an arduous task. Its around 5-6 hours on the hoist, and theres alot to be done to avoid damage to the turbo seals. Trev has a lot of pride in his work, its his business, and he doesnt want any returns so you know off the bat you're getting a 1st class install. Dont know about the majority of exhaust installers out there - most of them dont work for themselves, dont care about their employer, and generally dont really give a toss.
I doubt CPE will fly you and your MPS to the US if you need their help, and CPE dont guarantee ZERO CEL's with their system either....
Not knocking CPE, but I prefer to spend my $$ down under supporting local Australian businesses that provide personal attention with a friendly smile, especially in the current economic climate with the current AU$ vs US$ rate the way it is.
Also, it would be great for MPSGarage to negotiate with CES to resell their catback and TBE exhausts. That combination could just prove to be a winnner...

Yeah... let's see if MPS Garage will do that.
BTW the price for the CPE is Ex-Sydney as per the MPS Garage website.
Your 100% spot on there about the install, CPE is a R&D firm and MPS Garage is a warehouse. So you would have to go to one of MPS Garage preferred workshops to get the bits installed.
Thats what i found out anyways...
Wardski, how much was the install of the CES? or was that included in the price?
I was charged $2650 for the TBC installed after some negotiation, but I also had him get the Xede done thru APC Racing in Underwood at the same time. The Xede install (after more research later) was about $300 more than most tuning shops, so I assume he got back some of the install costs thru that.
I'm hoping CES knock some $ off their systems in order to increase sales, and maybe if they do get more sales, this will happen <fingers crossed>. While they do market themselves predominantly on Jap cars, from discussions I've had with Trevor, their current sales looks something like:
35% Ford (XR6/8 turbos and the like)
25% Subaru WRX's (all versions)
20% Nissan (mostly S15's, Skylines & GT-R's - All versions)
10% Holden (SS's and above),
5% Misc cars and race bread
3% Boats and
2% Mazdas (MX-5s, MPS3's, RX-7/8s)
I emailed Daniel at MPSGarage in the hope that he does contact them. It would be great to make things more competitive.

UPDATE!
Took my lil black beast into the exhaust shop today, and whaddya know... The world is full of d!ckheads. To cut it short, I didn't get a sports exhaust put in, I got a muffler cut out. 88 bux later and it sounds much better! Should be lighter now, so she'll go even fastah!
Congrats im glad to hear your non turbo'd MPS should go a little harder
