    Default Good Ole timing chain

    Hi guys,

Looks like I'm going to have to replace my timing chain, and the VVT actuator? (not sure about that one) and was wondering if anyone could recommend a mechanic around Sydney which they have used to have this done before. My local ones don't really want to have a look at it and keep directing me to mazda, but if anyone had a recommendation i would greatly appreciate it.

I was told a little while back, before the problem arose, that to fix this somewhat common issue i would be looking at around $1600. For those that have had it done does this sound about right - give or take?

Is there anything drastic that could happen to the car if i dont get this fixed ASAP?

    thanks for your help

    Maybe try Mitch @MPS2NV
I know he has done these before successfully http://www.ozmpsclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16599
Otherwise I think the consensus is Mazda for timing chain.

Mitch does it for less than that
    Has done plenty as well!

He's based near Newcastle... But if you want to do it in Sydney, Mazda all the way
