Thread: Bump Steer Kit Install tips

  1. Default Bump Steer Kit Install tips

    Hi All,

Looking for any tips on installing a bump steer kit, I've searched and there doesn't seem to be much of a guide around.

Is it pretty much the same procedure as removing the Front Sway Bar (without obviously removing the sway bar)?

    Cheers

I removed my engine to do mine, made it really easy

With the right tools it shouldn't be too hard, the 2 inner bolts are a bit of a squeeze but im sure you can handle it.

Yeah, i think i'll pass on removing my engine

Ok, so it sounds like what the generic whiteline instructions say, just remove the heat shield, drop the 3 bolts, and install the new ones. I thought i might have to drop the subframe or others to get to it

I managed to install it, required undoing the 3 main bolts holding the steering rack to the subframe. Double wrenching technique, swivel head ratcheting spanners were my friends. The middle bolt was hardest to get to but removing the heat shield made it easier
