    Not making enough boost!


    So I have purchased and installed the corksport catless racepipe hpfp, sri and tip, and flashed to cobb stage2 OTS maps.


    I have done some 3rd gear WOT logs which demonstrate peak boost at 14.5psi.
    I did 3 3rd gear wot runs. Fun as!

    It was disappointing after doing the supporting mods and them flashing the stage2 map to feel no improvement and see no increase in boost.

    I ran a homemade boost pressure tester on the hot pipe connection but could not find any leaks.


    I have checked all hoses and clamps in the boost circuit.
    I removed the IC and, leaving the BPV on, I capped the recirc hose and pumped air in and it held 20psi indefinately.
    My thought there is that the IC is intact and the BPV is not leaking.

    Compression test? Or might just be time for a tune.

    I'm pretty sure the car runs a closed loop boost controller. Do you know if the stage 2 maps you have increase the boost pressure target?

    Yes, the map i am running should increase boost to 17.5psi.

    You'd probably need to amend the waste gate table to get more exhaust into the turbo (only if you feel comfortable amending maps in AccessPort Tuner Race)

    I had to do that to hit targets on S2. In S1 i was hitting targets easily. In S2 i had trouble. I also only have a catted race pipe as opposed to a Down Pipe + Race Pipe.

    Out of curiosity, you guys have the 'pure boost based tuning' check box ticked right? These tunes aren't reverting to load accidentally and no longer targeting boost? Just a thought

    Yes, boost based dynamics is checked. It does sound like all I need is a proper tune for the car, so will get on an etune as soon as I finish my mods.

    Okay I have been reading up on ART and have fitted a CP-E tmic so would like to look at amending WGT - what range should I be changing - and by how much?

    My thinking is I need to change the WGDC values around 87.5% - 100% throttle at the 3500-5500rpm range ?

    It all depends on where in the rev range you're not making boost targets
