Wire Tuck
(Post goes over three comments so keep scrolling)
Tools:
-Screw driver set
-3/8 socket set
-17 & 19mm spanner
-E8 torque bit (for HPFP)
-Electrical tape (I used 3M scotch 33)
-Good scissors
-Stanly knife
-Solder
-Soldering Iron
-Heat shrink
-Hot glue gun
I’d recommend as you go along with each clip and label where it goes to save confusion later down the track. In case you lose track of a plug, here are all cable colours of the ones I used;
· Temperature – Black/red, White/red
· Condenser – Green
· EBCS – Blue/yellow, Green/ black
· HPFP – Red, Blue
· CAS – Brown, Brown/white, Yellow/red
I’m assuming people know how to select correct tools for each application and solder properly. If you don’t know how to do one of the steps mentioned there will be a thread linked or ask Google for help as most things I’m doing have been covered in other threads.
Before
After
First up you will want to remove the intake manifold (How-To: Injector & Intake Manifold Removal), battery and tray, intake, intercooler piping and other things in that area that will be in the way.
With all that out of the way remove all connectors to both sides the loom. Also removed and discarded the plastic housing that the loom is enclosed in down towards the air intake/ battery tray.
With everything out I took the opportunity to remove unwanted wiring (EGR, VTCS)
Remove the upper part of the loom that runs across the valve cover and plugs into your coil packs ect.
With both sides the loom pulled apart as shown above you can tape up the loom that contains the HPFP plug on it while extending the HPFP plug to about the same length (about 400mm) as the loom it’s attached to (I didn’t get pictures of my extended HPFP plug).
This can then be reconnected on the passenger side and run down, under where the intake manifold normally sits. Tape up the other side of this loom that it plugs into and assemble your intake and throttle body and join the two together, they are done (intake mani bolts 13-16 ft/lb and throttle body 71-101 in/lbs).
