    Default My Engine Build

OK so after pushing my car mildly for the past 2 years something had to give right?

Source of the problem, cracked ringland on cylinder no. 2

Stole this idea from somebody else, works great.

So here is my part list

    CP-E Stage 2 pistons 87.5mm $710
    Manley H - Beam Rods $380
    L19 Head Studs $295
Stage 1 Rebuild Kit with clevite bearings $880
    CP-E Injector Seals $190
OEM Replacement Clutch & Pressure Plate $330
    JBR BSD & Baffle $165
Engine, Hone, Line Bore, Clean & Balance + Head R/R $950

Budget around $3500, DIY Labor FTW - Ended up costing about $4000 including the new clutch

Block is measured, bores are round and only needs a quick hone
All rotating parts will be balanced
Head will be cleaned and have new valve stem seals fitted.

There really isn't much to the block once all stripped back

    Straight in gearbox and all

Found OEM Clutch kit on Amazon delivered for $326 AUD so silly not to replace.

And yes OEM clutch is plenty of clutch for my needs.

Mine has still got some meat but seeing as its cheap and the engines out might as well.
Its hard to know how much its worn thou, if anybody has a new OEM clutch plate lying round they can measure the thickness would be nice.

Installed a Whiteline bump steer kit today. I really recommend engine removal to make the job easier.

Yea I am not going to let anyone turn a spanner on my car until we have all parts together. At least it's driveable in the meantime.

Its not that bad out, as long as its had full balance. At first it was noticed but when engine settled it was ok, I know this as it wasnt working at the end once cog moved and i didnt notice the difference

I really struggle to say yes to full mounts on a car if it's your daily/only car...

Having gone back to just a REM... It's much nicer
