wow, cant get over that QA...shows how some "lemons" can be born. Good that you're doing it right with the build.
With forged internals are you planning on increasing the boost?

Nah increased power is a 1 way ticket to unreliability. Forged internals are just a safety measure, and will hopefully last longer than the stockers did.

Parts have been balanced and gearbox is being refurbished + quaife is being installed. Just about ready to start putting it all back together.

No updates lol. Turns out the machinist hadn't done the bits yet. Best news this week is my OCC, spark plugs and EGR delete arrived today.
Still going through this gearbox with a fine tooth comb. Mazda don't sell rebuild kits so bearings and other shit needs to be bought individually.

Parts finally came back from the machinist last week. The Gearbag has been rebuilt with the Quaife fitted. Time for assembly combined with dickloads of measuring.

Like what? I don't have a single piece of CS gear on my car. If not for diirps I would probably have quite a few of theirs!

Old motor stripped and decommissioned. ]
One troubling thing noticed on the old motor is oil getting past the injector seal on cylinder 2. This is a fairly high stress component being direct injected but I'd expect to see blow by gases here. Not oil.
Glad I am upgrading the injector seals in the new engine!

Is the old engine gonna be stripped down to see if it can be used for a rebuild.
