I can't really suggest a set off top of head... Just stick with stock compression ratio...

Sp63 seem the best, but, long wait times (3-4 weeks)

As for rods, Manley are probably the easiest to get a hold of... As you're not going massive power, I'd say carrilos are over kill

I started looking at some info last night but ifail was in the way.

srp is a je pistons product but wanted to have a look at what boxes can be ticked when going a je branded piston which may be an option in trying to achieve your goals. I didn't get to ring selection but will have another crack tonight.

Long Block is on order. Time to start acquiring some more bits eh?

    The list:
    Long Engine (On Order)
    Quaife (already bought)
    Clutch + Flywheel
    Injector Seals
    Pistons + Rods
    Oil Catch Can
    Intake Manifold Gasket
    Head Gasket
    Spark Plugs (mine are fked)
    Exhaust Manifold Gasket
    Turbo Gaskets
    Valve Cover Gasket
    Maybe Head Studs

Most of that stuff is pretty cheap but I still need to decide on Internals.

Send Edge a email or PM for the K1 rods they will take 800hp, and they have stock of them for a great price, CPE stage 2 pistons are virtually the same as Sp custom ones that mimic the gen 2 bowl..they are probably on back order as well since Wiseco make them for Speed Performance and CPE but CPE puts them in a fancier box

What size wrist pin do we want? Does it matter as long as they match?

Standard size is 22.5. As long as they match is fine

Edge sell both CP and Wiseco Pistons, looks like that's all they currently have in stock. Gotta do some reading on both.

CP Pistons only available with 22mm pin diameter.

Looking at the Images, Wiseco pistons have a simple bowl top while the CP ones have a flat top with valve cutouts. No idea what the advantages of either are.

    Quaife has arrived.

Getting a set of Manley H-Plus rods and ARP head/main studs.

Clutch will be OEM with a Fidanza Flywheel.

Apart from Injector seals, gaskets and other supporting parts, the only real decision left is what pistons to get. CP-e Stage 2 ones are looking like the favorites at the moment if I can get my hands on a set.

Normal Manley H beams are plenty for what power you are making. Save the extra $300. Plus as @Redjinn found out if your keeping the Balance Shaft, 2 of the ARP mains will need to be shortened by 2mm as they are longer than OEM bolts and prevent the Balance shaft seating correctly.

Ray has a set of the H Plus in the country already so i'm getting those for the sake of it.

I know about the BS issue that Luke had, still wasn't sure whether it was an actual problem or screw up on installation. Will be keeping an eye on it either way.

Done some research on this, Mitch has the same studs in his not sure if different size studs etc or machinist adjusted stud or balance shaft. When Ray and I measured his they were too long by about 3-4mm, When i get my old BS back i will be doing some research on if some can be shaved off BS to clear bolts. I will take it down to mps2nv's once Im ready to BS in mine, I will be taking OEM main studs as well just in case we go oem.

If they actually are too long then you can't possibly be the first person this has happened to. Are there any other reports of it?

I have not heard about it, i went searching for it spend hours trying to dig it up. Most people ditch the BS i think this is why we have not heard about it. @SarcasticOne seen anything?

Pretty much all builds I've seen have seen balance shaft delete... Can't really comment here...

Anyone able to measure the difference between OEM and ARP?

even the nut and washer is a fraction too tall by itself. The stud sits about 3-4 threads over the bolt. We took the stud to almost to top of bolt and still lifted BS.

I measured the ARP bolts on my car before it went to the machinist and 2 bolts need about 2mm removed to clear. Nut and washer was fine. That being said im not installing the BS but will modify the studs before they go in just in case I change my mind later. I guess most motors will be slightly different depending on the shims used on the Balance Shaft.
