    Default MPS3 in AWD?

    ...
It seems Australians are obsessed with AWD, and constantly knock FWD driven vehicles. But here is some hope for those who just can't break away from the herd...

I'm pretty sure there was an AWD JDM version of the previous base model 3's too.

there was always an AWD base mazda 3 it was the snow edition, it was only ever available in japan AFAIK.

mazda should give the option of AWD just to satisfy the WRX crowd, and steal their buyers.

The AWD system for the normal 3s and 6s probably aren't designed to handle the power/torque of the turbo engines. I doubt they'll see an AWD MPS3.

Let Subaru keep the WRX crowd IMO. I don't want to be associated with the majority of those drivers.

It will be interesting to see how the 3 competes with the new Evo X and 09 WRX in the targa.

Not really. MPS3 would have to beat ALL the EVO's and STI's to mean something, not just the slower ones, and Newtons third law tells us that could never happen.

    Gone to Volvo

    Like this...

Seriously though if I changed to an MPS3, I would seriously miss the fun I have with my 6 in the wet.

Though when the new model is released I think I'll schedule my test drive for a rainy day
