    Default New mx5 is turbo!!!

Yeah I know there is the other topic, but this title is better and more attention grabbing!

The 2016 Mazda Miata Is Almost Definitely Turbocharged

Mazda has (probably) turboed a sky active motor... Which is good news for us mps lovers

    Bring on September 3rd!!!

Dude I would seriously contemplate a lightened, hardtop, 2.0L turbo MX-5, MPS (or would that be something more like MPSX5??). But not before contemplating for a new 3 MPS

2.0L turbo, you are too easily satisfied. Wait for the 2.5L turbo.

Either way, shows that Mazda can make a turbo sky active!!!

    Holds hope for a mps

And, mx5 > mps... This will fix the only issue people have, a lack of grunt...

I reckon you can turbo any motor if you reduce the stock compression ratio first. At 15 to 30psi boost we are all running very high effective compression ratios on the DISI motors.

Would prefer a smaller 4cyl to something that needs a balance shaft on the bottom. would also imagine it would be more free-revving too which is something the mps really lacks. MX5 with a 2L with a tubbo that will rev hard? could very well be the perfect hair dressers car (with factory installed hair dryer).

with how light it is meant to be it should be nuts fun to drive.

    This ^
Once you get over 2.2L a 4 pot becomes rather unbalanced

Give me a 1.6-1.8L with 7000-7500rpm redline and a nice flat torque curve that's what a mx5 needs...

OK, you convinced me, they can put the turbo 2.5 in the CX5 rather than a sports car then.
