    Default Gen1 (BK) Rear Diffuser

    Item: Mazda 3 MPS Gen1 Rear diffuser
    Location: Brisbane
    Item Condition: Brand new
    Reason for selling: Making available to others an item which is not currently on the market
    Price and price conditions: $210 shipped Australia wide to your door. Would require final assembly and coat of paint, though can ship assembled and painted for extra cost.
    Extra Info: Fits Gen1 only, recommend just painting with plastidip.
    Requires rivet gun (rivets supplied) to assemble. Alternatively bolts can be used.
    Made to order
    Requires removal of factory vibration block to install

    I haven't noticed a scrap of difference with this removed.

    Hey guys, few people have seemed to like the rear diffuser I made so I decided I'd be able to make a few more.
    It consists of a flat base extending from the rear subframe to the lip at the bottom of the rear bumper, onto which 6 parallel fins are mounted by rivets.
    It's made from an aluminium plastic composite material, plastic core with aluminium skin on either side, so quite rigid and tough, as well as keeps weight down (though not like fibreglass or cf etc).
    I do not claim it to have any performance benefit, but if you happen to get some then that's awesome, I made this purely for aesthetic purposes at this point in time.

    Here are some pictures of the diffuser painted and installed on my car:

    Fits snug under the back bumper;

    And continues to allow use of the factory tow point;

    As well as the factory camber adjustment bolts;

    This is the design of the back of the fin, rounded over:

    (if you want a different design fin, longer, shorter, etc let me know and I can make it as you want)

    Fins will be shipped like this with brackets attached and all assembly holes pre drilled, the fins and base will be clearly marked for ease of assembly;

    And this is how the diffuser appears once assembled;

    I have a short video showing installation procedure I will send to the buyer to help with install, install should take no more than 5-10minutes. (including jacking car up and back down).

    Alternatively you can purchase the base to give a clean finished smooth look to the underneath rear of your car.

    Cheers,
    Alex.

    Do you know what the factory vibration block is for? A quick google search didn't show up anything. Good job making this Available for others!

    I would assume it would absorb vibrations to the body/frame? It definitely doesn't add extra vibes to my car... wife is just as grumpy in my car as out...
    3 MPS - Rolling on Pirelli PZero Neros, sitting on Bilstein B12's, stock internals... still makes me smile with the Zoom Zoom.

    Haha. I'm curious how that would work though, attaching something to the frame doesn't just absorb vibrations in my logic. If its a heavy piece of lead it would help reduce vibration. Gonna crawl under the car and investigate.

    Sorry for the thread highjack......Free bumps though
    @GibbA how does this mount to the undercarriage? Does it require any drilling of the bumper or chassis?

    Assuming it would somehow be to absorb vibrations. It's got rubber in the middle of it so I guess that's how it's meant to work, but as I said, can't feel any difference anyway. I dare say rem would be more vibes anyway,...

    It attaches like this, under the plate, or if you want the plate to sit perfectly flat, you could put it on the other side. It doesn't bolt to the rear bumper, rather sits inside the rear lip, but is held in very firm, the only way it would fall out is if the rear bumper is pulled off...

    In short, no drilling of anything required, making it completely reversible. :-)
