Thread: First mod ideas

  1. Default First mod ideas

    Hey all,

I have had my mps3 for a couple of years now. Everything is stock.

I have been getting the "itch" to add some little extras to the car.. but not sure which way to go..

What would a good "first mod" be?

    any suggestions are welcome!

    cheers

I think rear engine mount is a good starting point. Relatively cheap, can install yourself and results in a noticeable improvement in shifting.

SRI inside a thermally wrapped airbox, TIP upgrade, DP upgrade and CBE. That will ensure the air can enter and exit the engine as best as possible. I would also get a tune with that setup.

If you want to do more, also go with a intercooler upgrade, but honestly unless you have the money to burn right now, i would leave that till you are ready for the next stage of mods.

You could also get some springs and dampers and lower the car.

How the heck have you held out for so long ...I'd say Rear engine mount, Autotech Fuel Pump Internals, SRI, good tyres, coilovers, DP, 1 step colder plugs, Cobb AP (with OTS tune).....obviously loads more then this but that's probably a good start :P

Add 1 thing and you'll probably end up adding them all :-)
As others have said though, rear engine mount is a very good start. Adds to the enjoyable "driving" experience we all love about our cars :-)

And if you can get an AP and a free OTS tune (plus some fuel pump internals) you will have hours of fun tinkering with your tune on a PC.

I guess at the end of the day it depends what your trying to achieve? Power, handling, styling..... This will determine which mod to go for first
