Default BNR S3 v2's boost control issues

Just a word of warning, the new BNR s3's seem to be experiencing boost control issues.

Some of them are creeping badly, others are barely able to hit 18-20psi.

One person on MSF has popped a motor on "spring pressure" others have seen boost spikes over 24psi.

One now has a stuck wastegate flapper.

Might be worth holding off on these for the moment.

    Will keep you updated

Surprisingly they are all remaining calm in that msf thread (for now anyway!)

Well, they're diagnosing the issue, and BNR is responding to it and taking action, there is no need to get the pitch forks out yet

Also, with years of solid reliability behind him, they're a bit more willing to forgive. Once the issue is found, if it isn't fixed, or is put down to "installer error" you can be sure they'll start lighting fires

Yeah true, doesn't really have the stink of "Sure" attached to it, although you would be pretty peeved since the BNR range is meant to be basically a bolt on replacement as far as I know. Will be following it with interest anyway, see what happens, hopefully is just a minor manufacturing error like the CS internals.

Looks like BNR has discovered the issue and is rectifying it... 0.04" (1mm) of extra thickness and the metal in the waste gate expands so that the flapper can't move

I do not believe so mate, the wastegate design is more robust than V2 as well........
