    Default Engine noise

    Hi guys
I noticed a weird ticking noise today and it gets louder when it gets warmer
Here is a video with the sound. At 0:25 you can hear it better

There's a few different sounds happening in there, most prominent certainly sounds like the fuel-pump.
Have you had the VVT Replaced before? It's a fairly common failure in these, but - yours does just sound like a loud pump to my untrained ears.

Yes the fuel pump is noisy but at 0.25 you can hear a bit clearer the knocking sound. No I havent changed the VVT before...Does anyone has any idea how much its going to cost?

If you do the VVT get the chain done too and vice versa cost is $1200-$1500 parts and labour. And it's better to get someone experienced to diagnose too as these cars are noisy buggers anyway and it's not a easy job too do.

Yes I ve found the part from DCR. Costs 200 bucks or something and its reinforced so it wont happen again, but to change it is a pain in the butt...I am hopping to find someone who can do it for less and properly

Pretty sure the original VVT was revised as well to stop it happening...

They will only buy from Mazda, then add a bit, or get an after market one.
Then they will convince you to let them fit it.
Then one of 2 things will happen
    1. They will pull your motor apart then try and convince you something else is wrong.
    2. Replace the VVT, completely bugger up the timing and destroy your engine, then convince you it wasn't their fault.

My suggestion, get a VVT from whoever, then contact @MPS2NV

Mitch @MPS2NV is a really good mechanic and a lot of experience with MPS with zero issues.

As for that other mob, let's just say they are all talk, will say anything to get a dollar out of you, and their success rate is not the best.

Have you wondered why a company that specialises in MPS have nothing to do with this forum?
Simply, their lies were caught out, their service was pathetic, they blame everyone but themselves and even though they were a sponsor, the decision was made to ban them.

I didnt noticed it to tell you the truth. I thought that they had something to do with the forum. I know that their prices are high but nothing after that.
If you guys approve MPS2V then I will contact him. Is he in the Sydney area? Mobile mechanic or something?

I'd rather pay Mazda to the work, and/or diagnose the issue than iirps (aka the company who shall not be named)
