Thread: Best Mod, Worst Mod

  1. Default

Best Mod: SU TMIC. Was a pain to install (bolt holes didnt line up) but the results are better than I'd hoped. Car pulls strong all the way to redline; no tapering off in power like there used to be in the higher RPMs.

Worst Mod: CPE Turbo Inlet Pipe. A REAL PITA to install for negligible benefit. I want my $250 bucks back!

Does anyone who has a Turbo Inlet Pipe think they are worth the money- not seen any good review in AUS as yet on these?

I would rate replacing my inlet as on par with the intake. Modding the inlet is just as beneficial as the intake, only difference being the intake makes more sound which most people associate with more speed/power. I'll say one thing though, my car pulllllls in 2nd gear now. 3rd just feels kinda lackluster. 2nd is the new 3rd!

    BEST MOD: coilovers
    - they really made day to day driving so much better

    WORST MOD: wheels
    - Attract too much unwanted attention

followed closely by the BOV. sounds great but still a waste

from my experience, with the inlet pipe on, the car is more willing to rev compared to having just the short ram on

the power in second gear seems to come on a bit better and maybe slightly lower as well, so i would say that it has improved response

if you asked me how much power i have gained from having both the short ram and inlet, i would honestly say the engine would have gained 1kw maximum, and that value is rounded up

if you want the car feel like it isnt struggling for air, then replace the airbox

if you find the short ram is too loud for your liking, get a silicon inlet pipe and that will shut it up a bit, not so much the intake noise, but more so the recirculation noise - just my opinion

the cp-e 75 duro mount is a pretty worthwhile modification in my opinion, but not really something that people can live with, especially during the first 100km. unfortunately for me, i actually dont like the mount now that it has softened up, but at least the frame and steering wheel dont vibrate as much as it did when new, at very low speed turning/parking
