Thread: Turbo back for gen2

    Default Turbo back for gen2

    Hi guys,
Some of you may know that I am currently looking for turbo back exhaust.

There are so many choices out there and it is doing my head in. At this stage, I like the sound and performance of cpe tbe and ark cbe but it's damm expensive. Local option are 2xs and X force .

I'm bit confused whether I should go with dp + cbe or tbe..

Also I like the fact that cpe is not loud whilst cruising but comes to life under acceleration.

Go CPE DP and custom CBE. Do it 3" stainless and just choose a muffler that suits your noise requirements.

A few of us have gone Magnaflow Muffler. Nice and quiet at low revs and angry up top. Put in a resonator to keep the drown down for the freeway, but in took mine out a few months ago. Sounds meaner, but idle on cold start is loud, so something to consider if you live close to your neighbours.

    Default Turbo back for gen2

I have a 2XS DP and I have removed the midpipe res

Loud on cold start but fine driving around.
Aggressive noise up top, but no drone while cruising and quiet on idle

Recently I had installed a 80 REM from JBR and have noticed the exhaust noise to be slightly more aggressive and burbly

Thanks mate for your advice. On a side note, what's the difference between divorced and bell mouth design. The reason I am asking is that I've being offered Cs full downpipe for $470 us dollars where as I can buy a new cpe for about $525

@2XS would be better to explain this

I'd say there is an advantage to having a divorced DP, but how much the advantage is compared to $$ spent is another thing

Thanks guys for replies. I think I'll buy the dp and cbe later on. As stated, msf member is selling his Corksport dp which he has being using since March 2013 for $420. It is perfect condition..

A bellmouth DP will allow more waste to exit the turbo, compared to stock.
A well designed twin DP will make more power, quicker and hold it for longer.
A bad designed twin DP will make good power and get boost creep higher in the revs.
If you get a bad twin DP design you'll ALWAYS have boost issues.

And finally a few of us went out and listened to our exhausts... pretty funny.

This convinced @MissJody to upgrade her system...
