Default Short shifter concerns - cable end rubbing

    Hi guys,

Recently I picked up a used 2XS short shift plate for the 6 MPS and after installing I've noticed that the cable end sits hard against the upright part of the selector when in 2nd gear - see pic.

Is this likely to cause any problems? Could the problem be solved by raising the ball where the cable snaps onto upwards (by using a washer)?

Coincidently I'm also having issues getting 2nd gear on occasion, so trying to determine what the problem may be

    Larger pic please?
    Mounting points etc?

I've never had this problem, so, I'm unsure of the actual mounting points used.

I'll have to remove the intake and heat shield on the weekend for more pics.

It's mounted the only way it can (I think), with one end bolted to the counterweight and the hole aligned over the original cable mount.

I had a look at a 6 today with an SSP fitted.
It seems some (possibly all) have a different shifter cable mounting point than what I previously remember.
It clears everything fine on the 3.

Do you have the chrome version?
Would you like to finish the conversation via PM?
I have an option you may like to trial.
