    Default Oil Catch Can drain

After installing my Corksport occ in may 2013(cleaned my valves at the same time) i decided to drain my catch can this morning and found 400 ml of this watery yellow stuff.
Egr is blocked and i also had carbon clean done couple of months ago . i was expecting gunky stuff and black oil but this is strange. checked all the connections twice.

I think that is due to the moisture being caught in the PCV system. Having said that, when I drain my OCC, I get oil only and no where near as much volume. I dont have my EGR blocked.

I saw on MSF a guy who emptied his OCC and it was a mixture of the yellow liquid (2/3) and oil (1/3)

Is this your first emptying of the OCC? I think I read after the first emptying (5000k) you should get majority oil. Though I never got that liquid stuff in my first drain

this is the OCC i have and you can see there's a picture on the website of the fluid very similar to yours

    DM | OCC Kits

this kit doesn't route the valve cover through the OCC, whereas yours does

I recently had my OCC just venting and found the same thing, no oil and shit loads of condensation. I eventually got around to fitting the return back to the inlet manifold and have not had oil or water in OCC yet, going off that CS diagram it suggests running both the pcv and top breather into it, I would say try the OCC in the PCV circuit only and see how you go. Run the top breather back to its original location in intake pipe or fit the mini pod filter depending on what TIP you have.

Top one goes straight into intake n bottom one goes to pcv n crank case breather

So I got reply back from Derrick Corksport

"Some vehicle are different than others for what they will catch based on climate, the condition of the engine, oil types, etc. What you have in your OCC looks fine. There have been times where we have emptied our shop cars out and found nothing but water.
On the next time you drain it the amount should be less if you drain it at the same interval. The first one always seems to pull out more stuff."

I'm so glad I bought CS occ, Derrick is really helpful n reply back within hours. CS FTW

Gotta wait to Saturday unfortunately John..
No room to do any DIY here mate (damn apartment blocks) so i gotta be as patient as i can otherwise its out on the road and under the car for me
Been lucky enough to be offered the use of a hoist for the morning, so im milking it for all its worth..
Emptying OCC, dropping engine and trans oils for some fresh stuff, and swapping out the UNSure REM for a CS Race REM... Oh and doing the TMM insert finally!
So busy morning but will be totally worth it i think. Ill let you know what comes out of the OCC then!

Without smell-o-vision... it might be varnish or other oily goodies that condensate in an engine. I wouldnt be too worried.

Better out than in, as they say.
