Default New member - 2011 Mazda 3 MPS

    Hi guys,

Thought I'd sign up as this forum looks great.

Picking up a late 2011 Pearl White 3 MPS this Saturday.

Already enquiring about black Oz Allegerita HLT's from TireRack hehe.

Not really any mods planned apart from different wheels - this is a replacement for the wife's car for the work commute so need to keep it sensible.

We are in west side Brisbane so if you spot us on Moggill Road/Coro Drive or Ipswich Mwy give us a wave if we don't first!

    Cheers.

Just got to work out if these in 18 x 8 will fit with 48 mm offset. According to willtheyfit it sits 2.3 mm closer to the strut and pokes out an extra 10.3 mm (if I'm reading it correctly using a 52 mm offset for the OEM wheels).

Did a quick check on stock (18x7.5 +52) and the OZ rims (18x8 +48)
    1010TIRES.COM - Wheel Offset Calculator

2mm less inner clearance, and 10mm more outer position.

Excellent, so thats pretty much what I figured.

Looking at around $2200 delivered from TireRack, not including GST, exchange rates and fees.

    Good deal?

From my experience that seems like an average deal... the tax will be the killer.

Honestly I would rather go through a place like LSD Motorsports on EBAY (or any other reputable seller) and get a set on ENKEI rims for ~$1100 at my door.
OZ rims have never been at the top of my rim list due to price. I almost had a set of OZ Ultraleggera in near new condition with tyres for $850.

    Hi Dan,

    Which Enkei's were those?

I was also looking at the Enkei GTC01 which is AU$2037 shipped from LSD Motorsports.

It has been a while since I checked out LSD Motorsport, so my last post was a bit on the optimistic side for current pricing

I was looking at RPF1's for both my WRX and current MPS3 at the time 18x9 for the WRX and I only toyed with the idea for the MPS. Ended up going with RX8 Gen1 rims.

I worked out with the help of the Customs website that total duty and GST payable would be approx AU$338 (using 0.92 exchange rate).

That makes a set of these wheels $2713 all up, or $678 per wheel.

Waiting on a local price before any further decision.

Will be scoping out others in the meantime

Yeah I'm starting to think the whole thing is getting a bit pricey.

    Rota any good?

Rotas break on the track apparently... Or crack or whatever
i haven't seen it and to be honest I don't think they would crack with the power Mps puts out
maybe carrying a 500hp skyline gtr or Evo that zips around corners like a fly...
But for the Mps I think rotas are just fine

    Plus they look hot

Cheers guys. I rang Bridgestone for a price on those Oz racing wheels and they quoted me $695 per wheel minus rubber, so that's not that much more than getting them from tirerack. I then rang Mazda for a price for the new mps black wheels and they quoted me $814 per wheel minus rubber!!!!!!!!!
