    It made my gearbox very noisy! the longer i drove on it the worse it got. I had it out in 150-200ks has taken a long time of swapping oil to find one to help, Penrite 75-85 pro gear improved it but the Penrite pro gear 75-90 was a hit right away and the gearbox over time has settled again
    Many want Power not many hold it long.........

    Hey mate, I have a gen 2, so oil spec is straight 80 or castrol syntrans 75W85.

    Mine is gen2 as well.

    Can't see how a 75W90 spec oil could work. The viscosity numbers are wrong for the type of seal that's in the gearbox. If it is working, I reckon you've got a problem in the gearbox.

    It is. pro gear 75-85 Stopped my box from sounding like a cat tied to a cloths line, the pro gear 75-90 worked better again but on cold the gear change is not quite as smooth. Other than that its magic

    Pretty sure gen 1 is 75-85 gl4 whilst gen 2 is 75-90 gl5.

    Gen 2 is 75W80 as per owners manual. 75W85 meets the viscosity spec of 75W80.

    And I'm positive gen 1 was 75W80.

    I've had VMX80 in my gen 2 for a few hundred k's now, factory oil seemed to be better. It had a hard shift into 1st/R on a few occasions and seems abit noisier on decal. What do you guys think is better?

    Nice conversation guys, Torque steer reduction is such a vital process.I think Mazda3 Maxx is best option for you.
