Thread: SLIXX is getting Stratified!

So map revision 1.30 has been emailed to me tonight
Will load and see what the differences are

Alex mentioned that timing and load have been increased and that he wanted 2x 4th gear logs as well as a multi gear 2-3-4 WOT pull where you take each gear to redline
    This should be interesting...

    Hey @Mr.Harry

Were you ever asked to do a multi gear 2-3-4 WOT pull where you take each gear to redline with your RichTune?

    Different tuners do things differently...
Believe lex does it to see how boost temps increase as you go through the gears, there is likely to be more heat in the intercooler when you hit 4th doing a 2-3-4 pull than just doing 4th gear

So once again, I performed the prescribed WOT logs for Alex
The car felt very stable and seemed to gather power and speed effortlessly. Much less popping from the exhaust at high rpm

    4th gear logs
The 2nd log hit 21psi and only a hint of knock, which is a long way from where we started

    2-3-4 logs
The 1st one I did get some wheel spin in 2nd, but otherwise looked normal except for some knock over 2 in the middle of 4th. I didn’t notice anything different or strange whilst driving it though. No noises or hesitation
The 2nd one I eased into 2nd to reduce the wheel spin and the car did hit 21psi and knock was under 2

Because of the delay of getting back to me this week, Alex extended my tune another 4 day. Nice guy
Hopefully I'll see another revision this week

    I know
Until now all this jargon was just blah blah blah, but once you get into it, it makes all sense

If anything, the Cobb allows you to understand a little bit more about how and what your engine is doing and how it should feel under foot

Its great having the constant communication with the tuner throughout the process and when you are doing the logs yourself you're really involved with it. You can learn to start to read the logs yourself etc. Its not just a tuning process, its a whole learning process as well. This is getting awesome @slixx

    Yup
Reading only does so much, once you start becoming involved in the process and asking questions, it all starts coming together!

    Thanks Sam

The process is interesting and it's nice seeing and feeling each stage of the changes made. Being able to have direct input into how it feels and if certain things can be changed is awesome

Hope my logs look ok. The car seems to rocket a lot more than it used to

On MSF they record 60-100mph times to see how much more power the car is making. Think in 4th it goes from 3500-6200rpm? So the lower the time, the quicker the car

Have a look at how fast car accelerates in gear (even 3rd works) and compare now vs when it started to see how things have changed!

It's VD so not sure how accurate it is
It's a good comparison from map to map

Yep the VD plots have been very accurate based on comparisons from the TuneHouse dyno day!
Just make sure your logs are on a nice flat road and your entry into VD in terms of weight and tyre diameter is accurate
