  1. Default HELP! Advice requested please on SRI and TIP with CobbAP

Hi guys, I've recently purchased my Gen II MPS and I want to install an air intake, turbo inlet pipe and use a Cobb AP...I was considering running the Cobb SRI and TIP in conjunction with the AP so that it all will be of the same manufacturer(I like uniformity)!! I am after a nice turbo spool sound etc as well as a quality product ...what combination would work best for price and power?? Do I use Cpe, Cobb, Sure etc... I'm confused...help please!!!!!

    All work fine except SURE

Cork sport/CPE/Cobb/2XS/HTP/JBR are pretty much as good as each other.

more a decision on intake size, and if you want silicone or metal

Not that I'd go buy one brand new now. My SURE Aeros has served me well. Slixx hasn't had any issues either.

Yeah mine is working fine, no leaks thank god

I'd recommend JBR @jbarone simply on customer service and quality of products

Thanks heaps for you replies guys...I know you've all had heaps of experience with these products so I'd like to make a good decision...the Cobb SRI looks neat but unsure about heat soak etc

The metal TIP will give a louder spool than the silicone ones

thanks Peter! Just checked JBRs website and I'm very impressed...I think I'll go for the one piece 3 inch wide path full intake system... Great value and design...do you know if any members have used this system etc? Will the Cobb AP have a preset map for this intake system???
im also concerned as to whether it has a bracket to hold air cleaner assembly secure? Doesn't appear to??

Not much difference other than noise, i guess with metal welds could crack somehow, probably never happen but still possible and heat transfer properties, silicone might stay cooler than metal. would also be easier to fit in tight spaces as it can flex, especially around battery area

I'm pretty sure you'll need a tune rather than OTS map for the 3 inch due to its MAF size. Unless someone can point me to the map? I've just bought one of these and they are indeed worthy. However unless your ready to tune (either yourself or an expert) you may want to stick with a more modest diameter.

You should be able to download the maf cal from lex and replace the relevant table in ATR to get you going

Get you going but you'll may want to tune. @dazza what map are you using? I was holding off fitting mine until I got all my other bolt on's done.

I just spoke to Jamie from JBRS and he mentioned that there are no OTS maps available for this intake... I am now convinced to go with the Corksport Stage II Power Series Short Ram Intake(which includes Turbo Inlet Pipe)...I've spent the last 12 hours reading/watching clips on this set up and it appears as if this will fulfil my needs for sound and power gains( in conjunction with Cobb AP)... Thanks guys
