    Looking at buying one of these spin on conversion kits. Takes away the horrible cartridge filter from 2.3L and allow the use of the regular oil filter from 2.0/2.5L.

    1 = $114
    2 = $159 - $80ea
    3 = $205 - $69ea
    4 = $252 - $63ea
    5 = $298 - $60ea
    Above costs are for non oil cooler type and includes shipping to my home location. Further shipping to another location will be $8-$12, to be confirmed.
    Looking at doing this asap as the 20,000km on the odo just snuck up on me.
    Ask any questions you like.

    This is adaptor plate which i'll have to buy seperate
    Oil filter adaptor plate-Sandwich adaptor Plate -Prosport Gauges
    Do you know that the thread of the filter is?
    Yup that's the part. The water to oil type oil cooler sits on top of the housing.

    And yeah that sandwiche plate would work.

    Just had a look at the costs. It would be +$30 to order one of those. Shipping is the same costs.

    Now I will take your good advice and post on OZMPS.

    Edit// Just took a look at the shipping costs.

    1x unit +$78USD
    2x units +$88 or $44ea
    3x units +$98 or $33ea
    4x units +$108 or $27ea
    5x units +$118 or $24ea
    Good guess each extra kit is +$10USD above last shipping amount for shipping.

    non oil cooler type = $36 BK 3 SP23, GG/GY 6.
    oil cooler type = $66 - BK 3 MPS, CX7.

    If you are looking at it as an individual basis, below is what it would cost you. Also add whatver a 3kg post pack is to the below costs.

    no. of units = price + usa shipping to oz/me + $12 3kg satchel to your address (if required).

    1x 36/66 + 78 shipping
    2x 36/66 + 44
    3x 36/66 + 33
    4x 36/66 + 27
    5x 36/66 + 24

    So I'll be interested in the conversion kit. Did you find out what the thread size is because you need to know that to choose the right option for that sandwich plate.. is it M20? And lastly, this will use the same filter as the sp20 uses?

    yes M20x1.5. different filter than the SP20 one, but SP20 one would fit. The one I used to use on my old 3 was a Ryco Z632.

    Is there a great advantage of converting to these oil filters?

    The advantages are subjective so some. I see the advantages of the spin on filter being $5-$6 cheaper. The black plastic housing being a point of weakness within the system. Others do not.

    i got one of these from mazdastuff late last year, cost me just on $100 landed. a good howto on msf made it real easy - the water cooler could prove to be a pain if you hit it in the wrong sequence.
    k&n gold wrench off filters at $15 delivered make changes cheap, fast & easy. the plastic housing & cartridges suck balls.
