Default Eonon D5151A Replacement Head Unit

Ordered a new head unit off eBay after a lot of procrastination
It's the Eonon D5151A Car DVD Player-Special Car DVD Player-D5151A

Have read a few reviews and they have all been quite good.
$279 with express postage, so if it works as it should, a good price!
Comes with Aussie maps, but you can run Garmin, Tom Tom with a bit of hacking.
Will take some pics when installing and do a guide, it's apparently all plug'n'play so "should" be easy
Should hopefully arrive tomorrow. Also ordered a cheap reverse camera for $16
Will get some pics up in the next few days

Had a similar unit in mine for a few years. Well worth the money.
Some come with canbus so the LCD screen works fully, others don't.

I had no significant complaints with mine.

Really easy to install (once you figure out the wiring if you have bose)
Maps are pretty good, the trip computer was great (igo maps)
    Speed warnings were handy
DVD worked great, especially waiting in freezing Oberon for a bunch of MPS to arrive 1hr late

Nice, yeah this is the updated one, has canbus, steering wheel control, works with standard aux input in console, Bluetooth streaming, iPod, DVD etc.

It literally just got delivered to me at work this minute, so you can guess what I'll be doing
    Tonight!

Do you have bose? Interested to hear how the install goes.

No Bose, just the standard but it's apparently plug and play with Bose too.

Here are some pics from the install last night.
All went well, hardest part was getting the unit to fit in as there are a lot of cables back there.
Bluetooth call's, phonebook, recent and streaming all work with iPhone 5
Auxiliary Working, Radio Gets a good signal, DVD, MP3, iPod, SD all work
Included maps work but I'm now running iG0 Primo, which runs really well.

    See Pics Below of Install

Yeah it's actually quite quick, apparently it's much faster than the previous model.

I wonder how similar the colour of this unit is to the black of the 08 gen 1 interior... Could make it look a little out of place

Yeah I was thinking about replacing my climate control with the piano black, but it's very glossy and the Eonon is more of a gloss/matte finish. Might paint my silver to match

Paint the unit silver?? How will that work with the buttons etc...? Intrigued as to options here. The high gloss piano black does look really nice and I'm just wondering how this will actually look because of the matt kind of finish.
