I have recently purchased a 06 Mazda 3 MPS; and absolutely loving every moment I spend driving!

Today I opened the engine bay to admire the engine and noticed that the engine bay mount to the right is leaking some strange brown colored gunky oil.

I have done a search on the forums and I have not found a similar post so I am not sure if this is normal for a Mazda to have oil in the engine mounts, perhaps it is some water and dirt that has seeped into the mount?

I have attached a picture to give you more of an idea?

That is messy. It doesn't look a grease... does it have a smell/odour?

I know a few commonwhore owners who have found a brown sludge in their radiator over-flow. Just a shot in the dark...

Bright green liquid I know is busted drivers side mount.
When it dries it looks like it could almost be radiator fluid.

The engine mounts in the MPS are liquid filled.

Definitely fluid from engine mount 06 3 MPS here too. I won't go into my history of the Drivers side (Passenger side USA) engine mounts but quick answer, clean it up and inject it with 2 part urethane around 80 duro - or buy new OEM part - or aftermarket vibe versions (plenty on forum about them).

Oh...and have fun cleaning the fluid off engine

    Hope this helps

I'm up for one as well.
like the theory of aftermarket but hate the the thought of extra vibes.

Make sure you get it taken care of before it gets on the belt. The belt will sling it everywhere and make a nasty (very difficult to clean) mess.

Surprised a forum search didn't find it, that is definitely a busted engine mount. It was quite a common problem with the early models.

Thanks again all. I have sourced a replacement mount from Mazda for $295+GST
And I have come across this non oil filled one that mentions that it fits BK2 MPS 3, has anyone successfully fitted one similar to this?
