Thread: Stock Zenon Lights

  1. #1

    Default Stock Zenon Lights

Has anybody changed their stock zenons to HID KITS?

and will it affect the adapting front lighting system?

Doesn't make too much sense, unless you mean changing the stock HID kit to an aftermarket one? HID bulbs are filled with Xenon gas rather than a filament, which reacts to heat and creates brighter, whiter light over halogen bulbs.

We have HID Xenons stock therefore we already have a HID kit (i.e ballast). You can upgrade the ballast, which i find pointless unless you want higher wattage or you can upgrade the D2S bulb like I did and get a brighter, whiter light over the stock 4300k bulbs.

And no it doesn't affect the lighting system...

Not all MPS's came with xenon Lights.

What have you got Gen I/Gen II? Gen I had a POV pack model as well as the sports pack, The POV pack had no leather, no xenon, no shiny wheels (don't know the name) and maybe something else...no Bose?.

If you already have Xenon lights just chenge the bulbs to 8000K.

Since you have a Gen II (going by previous threads), it's not worth it at all really. I can't see how there would be any improvement in changing your stock Xenon bulbs out either. Seems like a good way to waste money.

fair enough, you got a point, i just really wanted to know IF i do will it affect the adaptive front lighting system, (the system to swivels 15 degrees whilst turning left or right)

I have a GenII Lux which comes with HiD Xenon headlights

I changed the bulbs to bright whiter colour

To change the bulbs you need to partially remove the front bumper and remove the whole headlight

No wonder Mazda charge $300 to replace a blown headlight bulb

Yeah i know but assuming hes changing the 'stock Xenons', i figured he didn't have the POV pack lol

I changed my bulbs to 5000k and they made a big difference over the stock ones. All though they are $110 a bulb haha

I changed my HIDs to 6000k and they nice to look at.

Not bad in the rain (stock obviously better). But a good match for LEDs

It does its too difficult to not. Gen I front bar is much easier than a Gen 2. Less screws I believe out in 10 minutes

A mod should also edit the thread title, so people find it when searching.
