Hi Everyone,
Any help or advise would be great, as I think I have another MPS 3 (2007) which has had a turbo seal failure
Was driving completely fine all Saturday day, however went to drive later in the evening, and straight away noticed plumes of smoke when I was reversing out of the driveway.
It hardly smokes at idle, but give it a few revs and it creates plumes of smoke.. it appears to idle and run smoothly, which leads me to think its the turbo? I have heard it could be the headers, valves or even pcv system??
With a turbo, what is the best option for replacing this? I have a mate who will be able to help me replace the turbo, but I am unsure which turbo would be best to purchase, or even if reconditioning would be the best? I am not looking at upgrading, and hoping for a direct replacement without a need for re-tune (currently running a Stage 1 Cobb tune, would this need to be removed?)
With turbos I did find the following options?
Mazda 3 6 2.3 CX-7 MZR DISI 2005 K0422-882 Turbo Turbocharger L3M713700C/D | eBay
BNR Supercars - Bryan Nickell's Rotary Supercars - Mazdaspeed3/Mazdaspeed6/CX7
With the BNR link it states
(Core exchange required), I assume they require my current turbo for parts?
Anyway, any help or advise would be great.
Cheers
Glenn
