thanks for the replies. Have been away for the w/e so just seen this.
I didnt mention this, but i'm sure she said it may have been dodgy wiring and may have just come loose from not being soldered properly would I still need a new one. I will have to call to double check but im sure thats what she said.

and thanks for that link. hadnt got around to that yet

I've taken mine to Melville Mazda all the time, over it's entire 70,000km. They have no issues with the modded engine. No complaints so far, apart from one early on which was attended to without drama and nothing to do with the car.

The fan noise is your thermostatically-controlled fan coming on until temps stabilize. They are normally very quiet and barely heard inside the car. If it is noisy and vibrating, get it checked. It make be a blade out of balance due to damage or a failing bearing on its shaft.

    Hey guys,

Just picked up a Mazda 6 MPS on the weekend.

Are there any recent thoughts on good places to get one of these serviced? The car has a few mods and no service history so I'd really like it to get a good look over by someone who knows these cars.

    Cheers,
    Ben

Its still pretty much the same really, Wood Bros if you want independent, Melville or Jason Mazda if you don't mind AHG... WA is a bit of a ghost town as far as people who know their MPS' but Ramp Auto Group have worked on a few members cars as far as upgrades go with a fair bit of success.

I've been taking my 6 to Tony Flood in Welshpool. Works alone, involved in motorsport, a Subaru & Toyota specialist but so far so good. For any possible software updates I guess you'd want to visit a mazda service centre. I went with Tony after him being recommended on the forum

Melville Mazda are fine. I've always had them service my car. They have no issues with my mods and I've never considered them expensive. Avoid the half-baked backyarders and even the Ultratune.Auto-master generic service outfits, they don't have the specialist gear often required, have to order the parts in, and you get billed extra time while they figure out work-arounds.

In my opinion Mazda Service Center is the best choice for repairs the issues of your car Mazda 6 MPR, actually it is a 2005 model car, then it hasn't any surety to find automobile parts in the other service center. I know a Mazda car selling company residing little bit far from Perth, contact them through this number (08) 6500 0100. They should facilitate you a great deal to repair the issues.

For what it's worth, I ended up taking my MPS to Melville Mazda. No complaints so far. They did a good and honest job. I plan to continue taking my car there for its scheduled services.

I'm getting Ramp Auto Group to handle the performance/mods side of things. Their customer service seems great. Will be able to comment more on their work in a couple of weeks!

From memory it was about $650 for the 120,000KM service which I believe is the big (read: expensive) one for our cars. I'd expect a standard service to be around $250.
