Thread: RichTune GT3071r Build

  1. Default RichTune GT3071r Build

Since blowing my transfer case (because race car) I decided to upgrade some parts. I've been rockin the stock turbo for 90 k miles and was able to make great power and set a couple world records but its time for more.

    Parts list
    IWG gt3071r
    JMF intake mani
ACT six puck with street light flywheel
    JBR wide path intake
    JMF occ
    Cleaning valves
    Etc.

My goal is ~400 hp @ 6500 rpm with a reverse boost taper. I don't want to hit full spool till 4k rpm to avoid zzb. 11.75 1/4 mile @ 119ish should be possible.Click image for larger version.

Nice one, i do like the intake mani what spring pressure rating are you going to use in the wastegate? and how did you fit the JBR wide mouth with the battery in stock location? or did you move it?

14 psi ATP IWG... I may end up going with the Turbosmart IWG if this set up gives me issues.

I'm going to relocate the battery or go with a light weight Braille battery and use the HTP battery tray.

What power were you making before? Also did you run it down the strip?

  11. Default RichTune GT3071r Build

It's been bitter cold the past week so no progress made except the rest of my parts arrived in the mail. ATP hotside will get ported this weekend.

Turbo is installed and transfer case is built. Today I'm going to install BSD and transfer case and bell housing.

When you do the BSD how are you planning on rebalancing the engine?

It doesn't unbalance the engine. Just makes the car a little smoother. Balance shaft delete is win because it removes about 15 lbs of bullshit rotating mass weight.

Really? No need for any timing adjustment even??
    Any increase in NVH?

Ive heard BSD is a big no-no when combined with all engine mounts, especially transmission and driver side for NVH as a DD. I still have a noticeable transmission whine from my AWR mounts, but it sounds like its supercharged... The vibrations themselves have gone after being worn in. For 'race car' obviously none of this really matters
Haven't heard of any long term affects, no need to rebalance etc

What is the benefit of doing this though?

Yep, that's what I'm worried about, mine is a DD, I use to have AWR 88duro side mounts which I quickly sold due to crazy NVH.
Now I'm using a modified AWR driver side mount and stock trans mount (will get a JBR trans mount if he decides to go 80a duro)

    Much better now...

I would love to shed 18lbs but at the risk of more NVH?? I dunno... If anyone in Sydney has done a BSD, I wanna drive it and see how it is

Shed weight and remove rotational mass from engine, makes it run smoother apparently, also allows more oil into cylinder #3 which is notorious for failures

As Rich said, it removes ~ 15lbs of rotating mass, theoretically should allow you to gain more power that is usually lost through the drivetrain, allows things to spin up quicker etc. You will also gain about 1l of oil capacity... Again would not recommend for a daily driver
    You are removing this http://i397.photobucket.com/albums/p...6/CIMG0403.jpg
