    Default HTP 3" Intake

I emailed HTP about getting a 3" MAF housing to go with their 3" TIP and this was my reply.

"Next week, Jan. 3, we will be releasing our 3" MAF housing which includes the integrated honeycomb straightener. Price is $99.00.

However, at the same time we'll also be releasing our full 3" one-piece intake system with the integrated honeycomb and K&N filter. These will retail for $260.00 however we'll be running an introductory price of $240.00 (with free shipping) for the first month of their release. If you don't already have a 3" inlet, this route offers a pretty good savings over piecing together the inlet, MAF, filter, and 3" elbow"

So anybody looking at a larger intake the full 3" is plenty for the K04 and even still good for most BT builds. And im ordering one as soon as there released.
Info will be posted on Mazdaspeed Forums later this week.

HTP are great to deal with, i bought the Battery Tray and it took under 2 weeks to deliver to me! They were very helpful with all my questions and also wanted to confirm with me that it would fit RHD with pics before I purchased....which it does fit. Props to there customer service

i probably would have gone there intake also if it was out when I was buying, but I run the JBR full intake (without honeycomb) - no issues

They recommend the battery tray to fit the 3" intake.. Anyone tried it?

Most here seem to get along without it.

Awesome. I went there too, but got the battery tray as well.

My Corksport TIP barely fits as it is and I don't want any rubbing on the ECU cabling.

OK fitted the HTP 3" intake today. As expected its a bit tight, BUT i did manage to still fit the ECU, Battery Box etc all in. I only put the rear bolt back in for the battery box but if i had made the holes bigger i could have done the others up too. Seems safe enough without if you ask me.

Just to be on the safe side i put an aluminium shield around the ECU wires too as they get a bit close to the clamp next to it.

Also i had to enlarge the hole to make it fit but i managed to fit the Corksport airbox in with the intake too. Happy about that.

So after i finished all the mechanical stuff i uploaded my new map. I used this 3" HTP maf cal thanks to Lex MAF calibrations for bigger intakes - Mazdaspeed Forums
as a starter and so far its not too far off. Idle and C/L so far is pretty close just need to do a WOT maf cal. Will post results once tune is sorted

I noticed you still had some CS pipes. Did HTP supply everything or did you just reuse the CS Pipes...

Ok. Good to see the airbox fits albeit with some mods. I just don't know how you squeezed that intake past the ECU...

Looks nice and stealthy, you happy with the quality?

Yeah fits great and its good quality and I must be one of the lucky ones, its seems everybodies cars are a lil different space wise.
I bought myself some t-bolt clamps too, not a fan of Worm drive clamps.
I think it would be possible to get the intake in without cutting the airbox if you could get like a 65 degree silicon hose instead of the 45 degree.

Nice. MSF raves about their gear.

I didn't know the difference between a Tbolt and Worm drive... But why aren't you a fan? Worm drive more reliable, don't pop off?

    T BOLT

    WORM DRIVE
