Pete (Slixx) came back for a re-visit. Almost exactly one year to the day. This time for Opt-Coat treatment
Pete's been taking very good care of his car over the last 12 months and as a result, the sealant we applied last visit (Prima Epic) protected his car for a solid 11 months before finally giving up the ghost. A great effort on its part. We were both very pleased with its ability to hang in there.
Only in the last month had it disappeared from the car. During this time the owner also had the front resprayed to repair a whole mess of stone chips.
The car as presented
Forged RX8 GT 19" wheels
After rinse, foam, and two bucket wash
The car was pulled into the garage. There was only very light oxidation that had only come about in the last month since the sealant dissipated. I know this for certain as the bonnet, which was resprayed a month ago and never sealed, had about the same level of oxidation as the rest of the car. Again a testament to Epic's staying power.
Buffer trails (holograms) on the bonnet from the repair work
Light swirling, probably happening after the sealant died:
Mirrors in quite good shape
The tailgate required a fair bit of work with some deep scratching where the badges had been removed and also from where the tail lights were tinted
Post-correction
Bonnet post-correction. A ceramic clear coat was used in the respray, so it was much harder than the standard clear.
Opti-Coat on and left overnight to cure
Exhausts polished with Optimum Metal Polish.
Some final outdoor shots
Cheers,
Dan
