    Default Making Fibre Glass Airbox

Im attempting to make a fibre glass airbox for the Gen2 (could even do a gen1 as i have a donor car here ) If the attempt works it will give me a 3' maf housing (maf can be size increased) that use's the stock gen2 air feed and maybe make the air feed bigger bigger.

This will stop any warm air coming from the engine bay = win! so you get the benifits of a CAI (cold air) with the meet your needs/larger maf's benifits of a SRI and legal side of enclosed airbox.. I will start this project this monday if i dont get to caught up i will post pics of progress ...

Mmm, been thinking I need an airbox to go around the filter on my SRI... have recently seen IATs well above ambient, and even above BAT... Turning on the aircon is like setting the filter on fire... :P

Need to get some cold air to that pod...

I was thinking along the lines of making a <cough>cardboard</cough> box and glassing over that for a purely povo first attempt...

Looked over the Gen1 with @SarcasticOne for possible air feeds and we have a winner. I will start the Gen1 after the gen2

Is there anyone what owns a Gen2 that will be up in the hunter Valley this weekend that would be willing to help me? I need to look at the room and possible air feeds from a standard from bumper.. I will need the car for about 1hr

I guess this is where the extra room in the 6 is a plus... once the intake resonator is out of the way you have easy access to all the cold air you want right below the airbox... just gotta get mine out... :P

]Not to try and hijack, but while looking for heat shield material I found this...

Air Filter 3" Boot BLUE High Performance 3A Racing with a Heat / Water Shield | eBay

I considered tryi8ng to construct someting like this from PVC to fit over the COBB pod...

    [EDIT]This too.. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/6-OD-UNIV...1#ht_755wt_907 [/EDIT]

Had to scrap the old mold and start again. Just waiting for it to dry and i will cut the height i need it and adjust if needed .. Ended up using the bottom mold and making a MDF box for the sides as the angles from standard airbox was too hard to work from.
