I just ordered one of these things. I expect a life changing epiphany the first time I use it. Will keep you all posted.

If something like this exists then claybars are for complete idiots. Most annoying job EVER.

Thank god for this thread and saving me from ever having the experience of using a clay bar in the first place!

Cut the surface prep towel into a square that is about 5cmx5cm in size and see how you go.

Tempting, but I think I'll stick with a whole, complete towel. The experience doesn't matter to me enough to waste an extra hour or two.

And then have to stop every half a panel and re-fold it, then drop it on the ground accidentally, swear loudly, pick it up and throw it away because it's now irreparably covered in dirt and crap from the ground, then get another bit and start again.

    That's a true claybar experience

Nah, a bit of foreplay did the trick.

Hehe, I gathered you were excited about using it, but I'm serious about lube, I was under the impression you use the same lube as clay bar...

Yea I just used the same detailing spray that came with my claybar. You'd be mad to go in dry.

When the occasion arises to use mine I simply soap the car up with my usual car wash detergent & water then run the towel over the top with light agitation, then another run with my carwash mitt...Kym (Detail Evolution) suggested this was safe and actually used this method himself. Works a treat and yes agree that there is some sort of sorcery taking place with this product, so simple to use!! CLAY BAR BE GONE!

Shouldn't need to clay or use the prep towel anymore with Opti-Coat
