    Default Massive Bug problem

Just returned from a road trip of over 2000km and my little MPS needs a proper bath. Basically half my windscreen and front panels are filled with splattered bug "roadkill".

I'm planning for a massive cleanup now so other than the normal car shampoo wash, dry and wax, does anyone have any tips to make the cleanup easier or point me in the right direction?

    Hi Dennis,

I would use an All Purpose Cleaner spray diluted with a little water.

Something like Optimum Power Clean should work well: Optimum Power Clean All Purpose Cleaner 512ml

Try a 3:1 dilution with water (if the bugs are really bad, maybe even try a 2:1 ratio).

Spray it on (with your car in the shade), and let it dwell for a few mins (3 or so). Agitate lightly with a brush or wash mitt and then hose off

Why don't you come along to the car wash meet tonight in Surrey Hills?

If you come along I'll throw some APC into my car and we can have a shot at getting rid of them if you like.

Oh, the car wash!!! I don't even have my car at work today, and it's looking more dirt than car... infact you wouldn't even know it's black.

I'll have to wash it another time.

Caff, what sort of money do you charge for a full detail and possible paint correction (there will need to be lots of paint correction as there are scratches, chips, dings and swirls)?

Will pm you some info Owen

The dings and the chips I can't really help with. But I can most likely clean up some of the scratches and I can definitely deal with the swirls

    Hey Dan,

Thanks for the offer. A dumb question, so is the meeeting a carwash just a meetup or are we really washing cars too? :P

It's a meetup at a carwash, that you can use if you want

Wash your car or don't wash your car. It's entirely up to you
