    Default Just bought '08 3MPS

    Hi All,

been reading this forum a little bit over the past week whilst ive tossed and turned as to whether or not to fork out the $$$ for a MPS (and which one for that matter!!!)

this morning i went down and put an initial deposit on a blue Gen 1 08' 3MPS, take possession of it on saturday (cant wait!!!) took it for a test drive, and loved it (floored it in 2nd gear @ 40km/hr to 80km/hr and was completely unprepared for what hit me)

there seems to be a bit of a following for the arura blue MPS's

it's completely stock, and having only driven a manual corolla in "anger" (if it can be called that) it's going to take me a little bit of time to get used to the sheer flexibility of this engine.

not looking at doing any mod's to it atm, am under 25 and dont want to completely ruin my life with insurance costs =P

with work + after work commitments, not picking the car up until saturday morning, then i've got a nice long drive back from dealer's to my place (looking at ~1 hour) in both freeway and stop start traffic

so yeah, looking forward to driving my new car, NOT looking forward to all the rego and insurance BS i need to go through... ugh!

    Hey dude,

    congrats on your car..

I'm only 24 (just) and my 2009 MPS wasn't as bad as i thought.. it was prob $23 dollars more than my sp25. Rego is around the same price. Shop around.

atm, northern sydney, soon to move though, so this could change =)
hopefully get somewhere a little bit closer to the CBD than where i am atm, the hourly commute to/from home is kinda annoying...

    wrong side of 30k
was a dealer, tried to get under 30k but they wouldnt... tried... no success...
saw some other 08's around sydney for $27k-28k during search, but most had 50,000+ kms on them, and were private sellers

Congrats on the car!!! There are definitely some Arora Blue fans here!!!

Stock isn't all that bad, that's what I'm trying to tell myself anyway due to lack of funds for mods at the moment. I'm in a stock Gen 2 and I think the car pretty much speaks for itself, the mods just add to the original greatness!! I haven't experienced a Gen 1 but there are a lot of owners on here that rate them and defend them quite forcefully .

with the paperwork side of things, once that's done you won't be able to wipe the smile off your face!!!

maybe once i get used to (bored of?) the power of the car (and funds permitting) i'll modify it, but in no rush to do anything to it right now, i like my sleeper cars, and hate the cabin noise that often comes with modifications

yeah, RTA, insurance, e-tag... bleh! hate it all...
looking forward to just being able to drive my car, and not worry about all that...
