Hmm, im a little dissapointed in both the MPS's 1/4 mile times.
My own car ran a fair amount faster than both of them on my 1 and only run 2 weeks ago. Stock turbo. And thats on about a 5 grand budget in total. Also its a shame they didnt list the MPH they ran over the line.
But saying that, it is great to see both companies entered an MPS!
Also, you cant ever compare the APR golfs with Tunehouse or MRT, APR has a HUGE development budget in comparison.

Interesting stats. 14's seem a bit slow for 177 and 200kW at the wheels. I ran a 14.01 slipping the clutch in my heavy boat. Maybe conditions were crappy at the time of the run, who knows

just bought the magazine today, APR Golf R is so damn quick !!!! and said the engine is rebuilt to handle to run at 8000 rpm for 24 hours.
wondering how reliable for a daily car :/

True eh! I ran a 13.7 with just a HPF tune, no other mods, stock zorst, stock cooler etc... Suprised they both wouldnt go quicker than my car with all them power mods? Why spend ur money there then if your car will only go as quick as it did when it was stock? And its not driver mod as they used professional race car drivers.. All up I spent $1,000 to go 13's.

Glad to see the numbers seem off to most people - I was a little worried as to just how much you had to do to get better than 14 out of these things, didn't think they were THAT slow!

    Seen stock cars do 13.9
No limiters ruin the 60ft which ruins ET
    MPH would have been interesting

Perhaps Driver Mod is the answer?

I don't understand how the MRT car is 177kw ATW

MRT dyno'd my stock car on their Hub Dyno and it reached 180.1kW
    No mods, no tune

Unless Motor Magazine used a Rolling Road, and in that case my was only 8kWs behind that score as I got a 169kW on a rolling road

    Doesn't figure

Gee thats interesting Pete?! food for thought.. Definitely no driver mod needed as the cars were driven by experienced race drivers ...

I've also taken into account that kW are just numbers and it's how it uses that power, but if in paying all that money and I'm only getting that sort of qtr mile time, I'd rather spend it on something else!

    It wasn't their dyno.
They all use the same dyno on the same day for the compare.
Doesn't say much about their figures does it :-P
