Outcome of CEL and Misfire on my Gen 2

As some of you will know my Gen 2 shit itself on Sat morning on the Hume Highway when accelerating down the slip road at Sutton Forest.

Basically the car threw a CEL and is misfiring heavily, had to call NRMA who checked, diagnosed the same thing and ordered a tow truck, so the car is now with Moss Vale Mazda where it will be looked at this week.

I will ask for the CEL code and post it up.

For those who want to know, the car is completely stock except for a MZR SRI and the REM inserts, so hopefully this should be relatively painless process.

Just got off the phone from Mazda, the CEL code coming up is a P0171 System too lean.

Seems like it is getting to much air into the system some how. I checked all my hoses on the intake and they were all attached. Mazda are still looking at it now.

I wonder if the SRI has damaged the wiring loom?

That is a possible, as the bolt has been rubbing. But I did check it and the bolt has not gone through the wiring.

The only issue now is how long it will take for the part to turn up. There are none in the country so it's on order from Japan now.

So an update from Mazda, they have fitted the new Valve and guess what, the car is still misfiring, this time with a misfire CEL as well, so they are checking the Coil Pack and Spark plugs, if its new spark plugs then I will get the car back tomorrow, if its a coil pack then next week.

Edit: It isnt the coil pack or spark plugs. So more diagnostics next week now.
