Thread: Auto Levelling HID

I finally found and adjusted them
For all confused (like me) on a GenII Lux the adjustment is found on the back of the headlight. It's a grey metal wheel with a 8mm hex head on it

    Drivers side

    Passenger side

Using a 8mm socket wrench tightening it will lift it higher

Thats to adjust the headlight, not the auto levelling function.

But that's what I was asking in the OP

"Is there an easy way to manually level the headlight back to a suitable height?"

If your car is using standard springs (height), you can adjust them individually per headlight.

If you have lowered your car, you can "tweak" the sensor on the rear control arm to adjust the auto-level function.

I had a look at that mechanism when I did the RSB last weekend - couldn't see any way to adjust it though?

Ok. I have lowered my car, but I changed the height on the headlight. Is this bad?

I'll have my car on stands this weekend. I'll pop my head under the control arm and see what I can see

Looking at that pic, I probably would have the same problem.

Once its on stands this weekend, I'll have a look

You need to bend it to adjust it.
It only takes a small amount to adjust the lights.
It needs to be adjusted on flat level ground, while the car is on it's own weight (not on stands)

You may need to turn your lights on and off to get the motor to activate the adjuster.

It's that little arm you can see which is bolted to a bracket on the swaybar at one end, and a plastic module at the other. It's a pretty delicate but of gear, plastic parts etc. I'd be wary of bendig anything. A rose joint in the arm would have been nice, Mazda!

I am happy with result from adjusting at the light housing.

Having sneaking suspicions that the auto-level adjustment in my Gen1 Sports MPS3 isn't working anymore either.
Can someone by chance describe (video would be better ), of what it *should* look like when you first power the lights on?

    Picture unrelated.
