speaking of which, when is someone going to donate their car (both 3 or 6) to lambros? he has pretty much the best rep in NSW for quality and gains with most manufacturers....if not NSW, then definitely SYD.

Peak Power output is for talking, torque is for winning.

It has been proven numerous times on the MPS3 that replacing the stock cat back, with a 3" aftermarket unit yields little to no gain, I believe locally Damsicko had his car dyno'd with a full TXS 3" system & then with the TXS down pipe + stock cat back and was within 1kW between the 2 runs, close enough to put down to dyno inconstancies.

The MPS6 is a very different story though, there appear to be some moderate gains from a cat back alone.

All said and done, if HiTech are prepared to build a system locally it is worth encouraging as most shops dont even bother given the availability & price of "bolt on" parts from the US.

They arent too far from work, so if they require a donor MPS3 I'm sure something could be arranged.

well put the caqr up on the dyno earlier tonight. ran it up. previously it did 147.9kw atw tonight with on ly the middle muffler replaces 159.8kw atw!!!

i think 11kw gain is pretty damn good for $180

Interesting...what were the conditions like for each run (humidity, ambient temp etc)? Same dyno used for both figures?

i hope you ran it on the same day before and after to get realistic figures. nonetheless if its true thats fantastic bang for buck!

what would same day matter ?? your not going to gain 11kw just with time are you ? if so thats bang for buck !!! ha

I think he means if you do it on the same day, you eliminate the climate, different staff and other variables that could change the result...

yea i guess... but 11kw... fair enough if its a completely different dyno... and the day you did it was HOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then cold for second run... but hmmm anyway see what he says

thats what i meant....11kw gain could have been realised just cuz of the temperature or humidity variance. Hell, the mod could have even lost you power but the 2nd run may have been cold enough to show gains over a hot run.

thats why i think all dyno's in oz should be like this one

dpmt know temps cause we didnt record them. first time i did i cant remember exactly when but was about 16 degrees when we did it. was a quick run very late at night.
the one the other night getting the 159kw prob was about 11 degrees. similar evenings to. little cloud mostly clear.
i looking after my cousins at the moment but will try to put a sound clip up soon.

was done on the same dyno.. its a AWD dyno dynamics dyno. done at ultimate tunes in phillip.

it has not lost any power. the car feels a lot better from 3000-5500k rpm. pulls a lot harder there

Got pics of your before and after dyno runs for comparison? Would be interesting to place the curves over the top of each other.

You just had the middle muffler replaced with straight through pipe, that's it? Everything else in your exhaust system is stock? I'd be interested to hear what it sounds like too, looking forward to the sound clip. Who in Canberra did it for you?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to quantify the results

i did this to my wifes car 10k ago no performance gain but sounds good cost me 50 bucks no need for cat back. but i did get more power out of modding the stock air box and putting in a k&n filter stock box is very restrictive
