Default Can this fit on my MPs???

Hi all, I need some advice regarding wheel sizes and offsets. Can 18x 8 +45 with a 73.1 center bore fit my 2012 MPS without rolling and using stock suspension? I don't know my wheel spec at the moment just had the car and still learning bout the car. Can somebody give me some information regarding MPS wheel spec even what size is our center bore or hub? Or what's the maximum width or offsett we can use without modifying the guards or suspension ? At the moment car is still new don't want to touch the suspension yet I was thinking to have little aggressive look thanks

Hello my friend, what did you find when you searched the forum.

    OEM spec is 18 x 7.5 rim with a 225/40/18 tyre.

Just get them guards rolled bro
Pretty sure hub is 67mm, I've got 18x8.5 offset +45 with 245's, and I could easily come out a bit more, maybe to +40

If you're keen on an aggressive look, you'll need to lower your car. Low offset/wide wheels on std suspension looks wrong.

I have this sized rim on mine, you also need to work out what tyre sizes you plan on running, mine is pretty low in the rear courtesy of coil-overs, a 225-40-18 tyre (Kumho KU36) would scrub occasionally, however now with 235-40-18 Nitto NT-05s the car would scrub only going over speed bumps, suffice to say I had my guards rolled last week and there are no more scrubbing issues. Both the above tyres do have pretty meaty sidewalls though, a different type of tyre may not scrub as badly, if at all.

Make sure you get the hub-centric rings to suit the Mazda hubs, the 73mm hub diameter is pretty common for after market rims, the Mazda hub is 67mm iirc, the plastic ones will melt, crack and die pretty quickly if you drive hard, aluminium is the better option for these.

There are plenty of wheel & tyre topics in the forum, you just need to look for them.

How do you find the NT05 over the KU36?
I have the NT05 but never tried the KU36.

67.1mm is center bore , confirmed. But if the wheels have holes for tapered lug nuts they center themselves anyway. Not a bad extra measure though.

And yep - they will fit - I'm getting 19x8.5 +42 on my gen 1.

    On a Gen2 you wont have a single issue with 18x8 +45.. I have 18x8.5 +48 with not a scrap..

+45 should fit without any problems, it's about as far as you would want to go on a Gen II without guard rolling tho depending on tyres. 225's will fit fine, 235's would probably be ok but would be starting to get a bit close.

These wheels on Justin's Gen 2 are actually 18 x 9.5 +38. Definately aggressive fitment.

The one thing to watch with a 8.5 rim and a high offset like +45 or +48 is inner clearance; particularly if you get coilovers. 18 x 8 with a 50 offset sees me at the limit with very little clearance for my BC coilovers.

I think I'm going to go 18x9 45offset with my 225s would I have any dramas on my gen1?

I'm also running eibach springs with koni fsds

18 x 9 +45 will give you 18mm less inner clearance than the std Gen 1 wheels. Or 8mm less inner clearance than my RX8 wheels. Would not work with my BC coilovers that's for sure. You'd have some more clearance with your Koni's. Not sure how much.

Also, 225 on 9" rim is going to be quite stretched. A 235 is probably a safer/better fit IMO.

I haven't really had the chance to give the NT-05's a good test yet, but so far they feel more grippy and responsive than the ku36's, they dont seem to like the cold mornings though, much like the kumho's

225 on a 9' rim i wouldnt.. To get enough clearance for 9' on the rear to miss the guard (even with lip removed/rolled) than to fit coilovers would need a 35/38+ guards would have to be pumped out heaps! better off with a 8.5' and +40/45 even than still need your lip rolled

I had my factory tyres fitted on my 9.5 wheels without any scrubbing and lowered on eibach pros
