Default Are blown shocks fixable under WTY?

Just as the title asks? I've been told today by a mechanic that I've blown my left rear shock, hence the exhaust banging around the place. Honestly have no idea i had done it. car doesnt feel any different but I now have it booked in next week to have it looked at by Mazda.

Cannot afford 1000 bucks for a new shock if it cant be fixed under wty.

is the car lowered at all? I know if its got springs in it, aftermarket, they might play the blame game.

    100% stock suspension.

I thought something like a broken shock you'd be able to notice it.

if its 100% stock then yeah I say you have a fair chance at warranty...stick to your guns and see if Mazda come to the party.

I hope so. Thanks for the replies.

Is there anything i shouldn't be doing with a blown shock. I can still drive it. I have been for a month, but now i know its there should i not push it around corners too much or something? or just try to avoid potholes?

I've got Cobb springs & had my R/H/R shock replaced under warranty, no questions asked. I didnt even know it was stuffed, they said it was leaking so they ordered in a replacement.

Will be covered by warranty, last service (dealer) I was advised that one of my shocks was leaking. Part was already on order for me, and I would recieve a call when it arrives, got a call a couple of days ago, just have to book it in for replacement now.

    I have stock suspension.

I have had mine replaced too.
Check the warranty thread for what has previously been claimed.

My rear drivers side was replaced also, I didn't even know it was leaking but Mazda picked it up during a service.

Touch wood, i haven't had any problems with mine. Can't see any reason why they won't replace them under warranty, especially if you are still running the stock springs..
