    Default MPS6 street brake pads

    Hi Greg,

I was wondering what you would recommend to me for a full set of pads to suit an MPS 6. I am after a street pad with a good cold bite (as good as stock), low dust and low noise.

The discs are dba slotted on the front and stock on the back.

I am thinking EBC redstuff or possibly remsa.

I want to try something different to QFM (my current front pad that I think I ruined by performing an incorrect bedding in process for street pads).

    Thanks in advance,

    Andy.

    Hi Andy,

No problems, I would definitely recommend Remsa's for the front. I can do the fronts for $138 inc gst and have them on the shelf. On the rear we have a Japanese pad in stock that are the ducks nuts. The brand is called ACRE, these are a great long life performance street pad with low dust, low noise and low rotor wear. I can do these for $110 inc gst for the set.

When you place the order i can send you the correct bed in procedure for these pads. Basically the trick is not to over heat them. Back in the day when asbestos was all the rage, that's when you had to just about dip your pads in the sun to bed them. But as no pads have asbestos in them any more, the bed bed in procedure is lot less about heat.

The easiest way to order is credit card over the phone, 1300 884 836, or else PM me your email address, your delivery address (preferably a work or business address!!) and contact number and I can fire you through an quote with direct deposit details.

Also if you need brake fluid, the fluid that we use and recommend is the Penrite Sin 600 Dot 4 Racing Brake Fluid, which is $20.95 for a 500ml bottle, and rated to 310 degrees dry.

If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

    Regards Matt

An update on the pads after a few months of use.
    They are awesome!

The cold bite is not there on the first brake application, however by the time I am out of my short driveway they are working well. The car pulls up better than stock (which I was already impressed by).

    Hi Andy,

Awesome! That's great to hear. What are the dust levels like?

I just had the remsa front and acre rear pads fitted last Saturday on my dba 4000 t3 slotted rotors. So far so good the braking is pretty good, a little softer on the pedal than stock (I have technafit stainless steel braided brake lines) but it does the job well. Will give you an update on the dust levels in a couple of weeks time.

@gslrallysport hey Matt, so far so good, the dust levels aren't too bad.. Still a bit of dust, but nowhere near as much as the stock pads.

    Hi Andy,

Cool, glad your happy. You'll also find, if you haven't tried to clean your wheels yet, that the dust is a lot easier to clean off than your original pad dust.
