Thread: Suspension camber/toe 6 MPS

    Default Suspension camber/toe 6 MPS

    Hi guys,

I apologise in advance if this has been answered somewhere before. Anyway, Im getting bilstein b8s and eibach pro springs installed in my 6 soon and would like some advice on camber/toe settings once lowered.. I will probably put spc adjustable ball joints in so I can adjust front camber. I have read some people saying bushings are required as well? Will I have issues if I just put in the ball joints over time?

I have followed this thread and they are basically saying:
    Front and rear total toe-in at .09 deg +/- .04 deg (.04" +/- .02" @ tire).
    Rear camber -1.6 deg +/- .2 deg.
    Front camber -1.2 deg +/- .2 deg.

Doing a quick bit of reading on here it appears maybe I should aim for 0.00 for front and rear toe and around -1 deg for front and rear camber?

Now, I have no idea about suspension, but does anyone else have values I should be aiming for once I get a proper alignment? I am running oem rims, 225/45 18 tyres. I do not track the car and doubt I will be doing so in the future so its just a dd.
I should note I did notice quite a bit of inner tire wear on my front tyres before I replaced them so Im assuming camber is out.

    Thanks,
    Darren.

a little bit of toe in stops the car from tram tracking and decreases straight line speed but increase's stability but does effect the ability to turn the car a bit @ speed eg understeer
Neutral toe is fastest in a straight line due to less rolling friction on the tyre's but does get a bit unstable at hi-speed and it will tram track a bit it but will handle well through the corners
toe out can cause oversteer but also can increase a car turning capabilities making it twitchy but like "toe in" decreases straight line speed and increases stability

i'll get my sheet out of the car as i just went and had mine setup and i'll post up the values that im running

Good info thanks for that. I would be inclined to run 0 toe from reading up on it. Looking forward to your values.

Digging this back up, got a quick alignment done and I will definately need the SPC ball joints (eventually).
Given the specs I gave them, came out to:
    -0.1mm toe all round
front camber -0.35 l/r (way off, should be at least -1 but need spc ball joints to adjust, was sitting at 0 before lowering the car)
    rear camber -1.3 l/r
Aiming for -1.2f and -1.5r once I get a re-alignment with the spc ball joints.
