Talking Next mod - TMIC suggestions please ?

    HI all,

I'm itching to do my next mod for my Gen2 - TMIC upgrade

Can anyone suggest brands and why (performance/ease of fitment/price etc ), pros/cons ?

There seems to be a few that I've come across - CorkSport, ETS, CP-e

Subbed. HPFP and TMIC are my next big purchases (one day).

Personally I love the Hyperflow. Both Jason and Paul have them. I love the detail they put into the scoop (they press thier name into the Aluminium, you can see it from outside!!!)

The new one from Street Unit looks the goods too.

I'd thought I'd wait on the HPFP. That's a little costly at this stage.

You have any pics on the Hyperflow installed ?

I love the Hyperflow unit too. I think the black really sets off the engine bay and seeing the mane through the bonnet scoop is awesome.

Only problem is the price compared to the other TMIC options. $1,000 for the Hyperflow when the price range of the other brands ranges from $350-500 is a bit steep!

Anyone have any opinions on the CP-e one ?

I saw the corksport one. I like the idea of using the stock shroud. The Hyperflow does look nice...but my signature is all about keeping it subtle maybe too much 'bling' for me

I'm confused about a 'black' TMIC. Doesn't the colour black retain heat, and therefore not a good idea? .like black cars and black leather..i find it very hot in summer.

Unless I'm misunderstanding how intercoolers are suppose to work ?

Horses for courses naasif, its not about bling . Not all intercoolers are the same, you must take into consideration a number of factors,
Core design , fin shape, air flow through the core and flow through the end tanks IE minimal restrictions and no bottle necks .
There are a lot of cheap chinese cores on the market without a lot of flow testing applied .
Naturally price is a consideration . CPE, Corksport ,ETS and of course Hyperflow should be considered .
And finally NO the black powdercoating does not effect heat ,but benefits in the fact that the core and tanks and air rails are protected from corrosion .
Hope this helps in your considerations.
Way to many mods, way too much money spent, way way too much time spent = the wifes no 1 Enemy.

What would be awesome is if someone who is currently researching could do a price+postage table?

Wish my MPS had a tasty big air intake in the bonnet from factory...... :-(
