I emailed GSLRallySport today to enquire about the Exedy HD Cushion Button Clutch
Response is confusing. Maybe Exedy doesn't know what they are talking about?

Ok well I have just spoken to Exedy and they have told me that they have had big issues with anything to suit that part number. Apparently there is a problem with the clutch cover which is used on all variants of clutch, so that includes OEM, HD, HD button, and HD cushion button. So at this stage they have put that whole clutch design back into research and development. So I can't help you at the moment with a clutch sorry. I would however get back onto the guy you were talking to from Exedy and fill him in on what's happening in his own company. Might have to jump on the net and what the world has to offer in the way of clutches.

    UPDATE!

My Exedy HD clutch is slipping!!!

Almost exactly 12 months after install, and less than 20,000K's...

Given this I need to withdraw my recommendation of Exedy clutches for the MPS, at least until I find out what is going on...

    Sigh,

    Chris.

I'm guessing this is the problem @gslrallysport was referring to?

I emailed the correspondence from @gslrallysport to Exedy and it is all below

    Hi Peter, how are you?
    Unfortunately, that email is correct.
Our MPS clutch kits have been put on hold as they have found a lift issue.
This has happened over the last couple of weeks which unfortunately, is no good for you.

Not much we can do at this particular moment.
    Sorry.

Well, mine is coming out on Monday for a looke-see...

If no installation faults are evident, off to Exedy for appraisal to see if they will cover it under warranty, even though it is just on one month out...

Sadly my old mechanic closes up shop at the end of the week, so he has put me onto some new guys... These guys also have a dyno and do dyno tuning, but no Mazda experience.

    Will see how they go.

If Exedy cannot (or will not) supply a replacement, what are my best options?

    Cheers,

    Chris.

Bad news Chris. Sorry to hear

Is the "lift issue" and your problem related?
